Game For Tron Legacy Confirmed
Most of you are likely too young to remember "Tron," but suffice it to say, it was the sci-fi lover's Holy Grail when it released. It may look cheesy now, but that stuff was cutting edge at the time.
And in the recent tradition of bringing old classics to life with fresh technology and visuals, a new "Tron" will be headed to movie theaters some time next year. That means there would be a 30-year gap between the original picture and what they're calling "Tron Legacy," but that's okay...once a sci-fi fanatic, always a sci-fi fanatic, right? But even way back then, there was a video game that went along with the movie and if you're not familiar, you should do the research; that game was fun. So of course, we want another game for this new movie, and it seems we've received confirmation that is indeed in the works. According to GameSpot citing the Latino Review, original "Tron" director and producer on "Legacy," Steven Lisberger, has clarified the situation:
"I don't know whether I'm supposed to say it, but I'm saying it. There is definitely [a video game.] How could there not be?"
Well, duh. Lisberger added that Disney is handling in-house development now, which means this game should be in the works at Disney Interactive Studios. While there is a three-decade gap between the first movie and this sequel, there won't even be a 10-year gap between the last "Tron"-based video game and this new title. Tron 2.0 released for the PC back in 2003, then was ported to the Xbox and GameBoy Advance the following year. Why? Because movies like "Tron" are perfect for games. Let's just hope both the "Tron Legacy" movie and the game adaptation are worth our time and money.

... or maybe I just like the punishment of high expectations being crushed by inferior final results ....
