Major Assassin's Creed Plot Point Leaked

It goes without saying that Assassin's Creed is one of the most anticipated games of 2007. Ubisoft's action/adventure title, for both the PS3 and 360, allows players to roam an immersive world set in 1191 AD during the Third Crusade. You play as the assassin Altair, and your goal will be to eliminate certain figureheads on both sides of a war in order to end the combat. The game should implement fresh new stealth technique, the "social camoflauge feature," new action based on acrobatic moves, and provide a general sense of power and capability.

But up until this point, we had simply believed the plot begins and ends with the medieval setting. How could we have expected any sort of science fiction twist based on the screenshots and details we've accumulated? Well, in a recent interview with IGN TV, actress Kristen Bell (star of "Veronica Mars" and involved in Assassin's Creed) may have let a little something slip...

"It's actually really interesting to me. It's sort of based on the research that's sort of happening now, about the fact that your genes might be able to hold memory. And you could argue semantics and say it's instinct, but how does a baby bird know to eat a worm, as opposed to a cockroach, if its parents don't show it? And it's about this science company trying to, Matrix-style, go into peoples brains and find out an ancestor who used to be an assassin, and sort of locate who that person is."

Just like that, we get a piece of info that turns our expectations on its ear. What does it all mean? Well, it looks like we're gonna have to wait a bit longer to find out, because as of yet, Ubisoft hasn't responded to Bell's comments.
