PSXE MAG Beta Code Giveaway!

256 players online. It wasn't that long ago when such a number would be deemed ludicrous. Preposterous. Impossible.

But MAG is very, very real, and the public beta test begins today. The hours for this test are Mon. - Fri., 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. PST, which means you will only have a certain amount of time each day to sample the most innovative online multiplayer shooter of the generation thus far. Wait, what's that? You don't have a code? Oh, well, perhaps we can help. We've got a nice little set of 100 codes here and we'll give them away in a raffle style; all you have to do is get a little creative, and help other PS3 users decorate their TV screens.

It's simple: approved PS3 and PSP wallpapers and themes will be considered raffle entries, and we will hand out the 100 codes randomly, or perhaps as we see fit. In other words, if you're all kinds of ambitious and gave us like 5 sweet wallpapers, you might be guaranteed a code. And of course, you will receive author credit for approved submissions. Please follow the uploading instructions when submitting, and here are the rules that you must abide by:

1. Only approved submissions will be eligible. Please check the image viewing requirements before uploading.

2. There is no limit to how many you can submit.

3. Absolutely no nudity or offensive content.

4. No logos from other sites and no other names on the image(s) (no photographer names for model pics, for example).

5. Feel free to upload your favorites! Not just games; celebrities, model photos, hot cars, fav athletes, etc.

You may start submitting whenever you like; I will e-mail codes every other day or so to those who qualify, and we'll keep going until all the codes are gone. The faster you move, the better chance you'll have and besides, you don't want to let too much of the beta test go past before you become involved, right? And by the way, just because you don't get your code immediately after submitting doesn't mean you won't get one; we'll see them all and if you did good, you should get one. Good luck!

Find a photograph of the right size (1080 or 720) and save it to your computer. Then upload it with the "upload" button so Ben and the others can see it.

Guess I picked the wrong weekend to move! I just boxed up the CPU and my srvc at my new place won't be on untill next Friday :( My iPhone is the only Internet I got right now. Hopefully there will still be plenty of other ways to get codes from SCEA..... Or if PSX gets more some how.

I know some of you have codes that don't work; I've sent a follow-up e-mail to Sony to help with this. If your code DOESN'T work, let me know and I'll definitely try to get you one that does. They may not have activated these codes yet, or something.

I dont have a working email at this time. I wont be upset if you dont pick me but I was wondering if you did send one or didnt. I made one wallpaper though its not a photoshop it is something I thought was creative on mspaint... Im trying. Anyways Ben, I dont normally post here just read and wanted to know if you did happen to send one my way.

Also regarding the wallpaper. I dont know if everyone is creating their own (like I did) or just picking up images off the net. I took some creative time with mine not grabbed something i saw on the net. just sayin. Hey People, Been visiting this site like for a year. I have never register here because I don't leave many comments. Also, I have uploaded like 5 wallpaper's. All of them have PLAYSTATION 3 on the bottom, I think they look cool, but if that goes against the rule let me know so I can upload a few more Ben. Really want to get in this beta!

i uploaded 14 wallpapers already... from BF1943 to SF4. I'm not sure if they have been approved or not, but they all show up on the website now. I did make sure that all the ones I uploaded had not been uploaded by others before.

I noticed that many other wallpapers have name of the uploader listed right below the wallpaper, but I don't see my name listed in any of my wallpapers... Is that normal? I'm sure I was logged in when I upload them.

i just uploaded 2 more... hopefully I will be one of the lucky ones!

dont matter ive figured it out. hope you like all the wall papers. The Uncharted 2 ones were me messing with the cinema mode which is awesome as you can send recorded videos via psn and the twitter client is fluid with no issues, i hope more games implement thing like this in social netwroking here. i'll hopefully going to go play some more trine. finger cfrwww

I submitted ten different wallpapers and all ten were uploaded. I'm kinda scared that I did something wrong. I gave credit to the author where I could but I'm afraid that maybe I should have put myself as the author? Does it know that my username submitted it (I see your post baseballdude but I'm still worried for some reason)? I'm not sure... Anyways, check out the one called Sparkles. It works well in the background and doesn't take too much from the toolbar. I also use it on my Linux Box. I called it Dots but I think Sparkles fits it better.

And people, if you want credit for the wallpapers you upload, please fill in the Author part rather than leaving it blank.

Also, I'm like 200 wallpaper submissions behind so bear with me. If you submitted in the last 9 hours or so and it hasn't been approved, it just means I haven't gotten to it yet.

Aww, I totally messed up in that part. I put unknown since I thought I was supposed to name the artist name that made the wallpaper lol not the up loader. Can you guys still check/change who uploaded the wallpapers without the author part?

to all the people that say their code is not working, when i got my code from scea i had to go on the store to activate it not from the xmb. i tried from the xmb and it told me the code was not good or already used, when i went to the store it worked right away.

and when you do get it to work be prepared for a lot of downloading. it took me hours to download everything.

i dont know if i will get in some kind of trouble or if im not supposed to talk about it but i was on MAG earlier for like an hour. they had only one smaller type of game going. only 64 people in a game. it was called sabotage. gonna go back on when the servers are up later tonight. graphics were good, gameplay was pretty tight. people were complaining of the shotgun being way to strong. i am not the best at fps but no way i am passing up the beta on this.

and to anyone tryin to get the downloads for it i would recommend trying to start the download at the begining of the times the server goes up, it seriously took like 3+ hours to download the file. the servers are up twice a day so if you get the download on the early time you can make the night time server.

anyone that does get in or wants to be psn friends my psn name is same FRYLOCK25. who wants to start a psx clan in MAG?

Hey mate i think your okay with what you said.
Im pretty sure that, what you said isnt a breach of contract or whatever.
But i would say to anyone who gets the codes that they should tryto download it on monday.
Apparently atm the download servers arent working correctly, thus the very bad download speeds and alot of download errors.

On monday it should all be fixed though, so ill hopefully see you guys around :)

guess my amazing uncharted 2 screenshots that took hours of getting the camera position werent enough to get a code. oh well, lets hope there a slim chance i get on the eu blog beta keys. cant complain 2 muchas having mega fun on uncharted 2 and SCEE were nice enough to send me a free pack of 12 x redbull for the privalage. happy days still lie ahead.

One question:
If uploaded more than 10 wallpapers, but if I don't fill that "Author:" bar, does that mean that I didn't upload it? Because I did one and in wallpaper section, instead of Author it says: Uploaded by. So I believe I had to fill in my username to all wallpapers or am I wrong?
