Capcom Prepping Street Fighter V?
Don't forget: Street Fighter IV is one of the best games of the year, and after returning the long-running franchise to its former glory, everyone was instantly pining for Street Fighter V.
After talks for SFIV on the Wii evidently fizzled, NintendoEverything says they translated a new message at the official SVIV blog, and it says news on a sequel is headed our way. Natsuki Shiozawa reveals that Capcom will have an announcement to this effect "very soon," and it's possible Capcom may unveil the sequel at the Tokyo Game Show at the end of the month. The game sold very well and now that the developers have proved they can produce one hell of an experience, by all rights, a sequel should be almost inevitable. It seems that Street Fighter - as a franchise - could be legitimate competition to the likes of Namco's Tekken; Tekken 6 still hasn't released, but it's bound to turn plenty of heads. And if Capcom is quick to announce a sequel to SFIV, fighting fans everywhere should be happy with the selection on store shelves. We'll have to wait and see what happens at TGS (Capcom has other stuff to talk about), but in the meantime, SFIV fans should just wait as patiently as possible.
Our only suggestion would be to not make SFV as cripplingly difficult when it comes to certain lame repeating moves on the part of your opponent. ...but we're certain all the hardcore masters out there will only laugh at that request.

SFIV was based after SFII
SFIII doesn't factor into SFIV (minus possible SFIII characters)
On its own though, it doesn't factor with SFIII, as it stands.
By the way, the SF sequel they're talking 'bout is SFIV: Dash
Just like Alpha3 was the sequel to Alpha2.
The proper term would be "mini-sequel"
It's know around the SF community, in which I'm a bit part of that it's not SFV
SFV is believed to come out in some 3 to 4 years down the line.

Anyways, I'm hella stoked about this. But I really think it would be wise of Capcom to release a sequel sometime next year. Tekken is just way too popular. Some new character DLC will suffice if you ask me. Either way, I'm getting it.

I personally don't find Seth cheap for a couple of reasons. Mainly his defense is terrible and virtually every character can perform a stun combo against him. He's really easy once you get an offense going on him. But if you really want to get the trophy, try using the "exploits" I mentioned.

-The gameplay was the same as MGS3
-The online system sucked since you had to subscribe through Konami's site
Or that Tekken sucks because the gameplay is exactly the same with the same characters and the modes are the same as in all Tekken games
Or that Virtua Fighter sucks (best 3D fighter, period) because the modes are all the same as in previous VF games. And because the gameplay's the same
Ooooooooooooooooooooh so then Soul Calibur sucks too because it's the same crap with seen in Soul Calibur II and III
^And its online system is worse than SFIV's
PS: What fighters do you all actually consider better than SFIV this generation? I'd like to know them

Do you know the definition of a "reason?"
I could say you as a person are boring as hell. And by your logic I wouldn't need to back that up.
You're boring, period :3
Awesome making claims without reason!
@www,
Check out psxe's reviews on both games
SCIV: 8.8
SFIV: 9.4
@jawknee,
Anything special because you say so? Or rather, you just don't like fighting games at all?
To have Virtua Fighter 5 and Super Smash Bros Brawl right in your face and claim there hasn't been great fighting games this gen shows your lack knowledge and interest in the fighting genre.
And not defensive, ignorance/false claims are not to be taken lightly.

First of all: You used SFIV as an example and yet you say you didn't mean to?
Second of all: If you add more things to SFIV such as characters as DLC you'll alienate the fan base. Some will have these characters, some will not. It makes it an unfair playing field. It's like having all the guns available to you in an online FPS and only having half of them. Fair?
That's why a disc release is truly the only option.

So not only were you the first one to call anyone here names. But then you make it seem as if I'm hurting you
I was pointing out that the DLC just like in any or most games are optional. If one doesn't like the price one can always walk away from it.
I've seen DLC in LBP I didn't like, I walk away from it. Doesn't mean the game sucks

But enough about that. Some of you guys are just stating your preference of SF games as if it's fact. When talking about fighting games, you have to consider a few things like: balance, depth, and playability. SFIV has all these things, whereas SF2 Turbo is old and doesn't have the amount of polish present in today's fighters. In contrast, SFIV has better balance, and foremost depth. Take for example, the additions of ultra combos, ex cancels, and the focus attack. Are these things present in SF2 turbo? That's right, they're not. Furthermore, these additions don't inhibit the feel of the game rather they add a layer of depth you can't get in older SF games. The only SF that can hold a candle to SFIV in terms of depth, etc is SFIII, period.
So there, just because you may have a preference for nostalgia and easier games, doesn't make an older game better than the new renditions. It's a preference and you can have one sure, but to put it off as fact and say x game is boring in the process, is I dare say ignorant. And no this isn't subject to debate, SFIV is awesome, BlazBlue is awesome, and Tekken 6 will be awesome. So let's put an end to all this "my preference > than yours" stuff.

SFAlpha3 M. Bison was hard as hell
MVC2's boss was hard as hell
SFIII's boss was hard as hell
In fact, SFIV is the first SF to allow a difficulty level of EASIEST. That's right, there's EASIEST, VERY EASY, EASY, NORMAL, HARD, and Very HARD. I've tested it out and you can beat Seth on Easiest without using specials, all you have to do is jump and kick.
Have any of you guys ever play Virtua Fighter? After playing that game's Arcade mode Seth looks like child's play

What I find funny though, is I couldn't (and wouldn't mind you) go on a page about say Infamous or Uncharted and call it a average game without getting blasted. Yet, people feel it's safe to jump on the bandwagon when it's not a PS3 exclusive here and call out other games. And before you put words in my mouth Jawknee, this bit isn't about you; it's about a lot of people's attitudes towards other games on this site. It's hypocritical to say the least.

If you have enough friends who can play the game with you it doesn't matter if you go to an Arcade or not.
In fact, with the console, you have the game with you 24/7. There's a certain advantage there.
Note: not arguing that online is better than anything. And the online in SFIV is better than Soul Calibur IV's so in that regard SFIV did really well.

Another note, I prefer the thumb pad on a console to a joystick. Always have. Even since the good ol'days of SFII Turbo Hyper Fighting on the SNES and Arcade.

You want a 50+ character roster full of unbalance? Because I can tell you right now that MvC2 was full of balance problems
Same with CvS2
While on the SNK bit, how did they copy the SNK games gauge bar?
As far as I know SF had a super and life bar way before any of SNK's games.
Again, if you know nothing 'bout SF, you should not be claiming spewing out BS

Street Fighter wasn't the first to use life bars, Yie Ar Kung-Fu was if I remember correctly, and it came out around 5-6 years earlier. But yeah it beat SNK since they didn't put any out until the same year as Street Fighter 2. Samurai Shodown introduced the Rage Guage in '93. Street Fighter wouldn't get their version until the following year so SNK beat them with that one.
And I'm sorry if I prefer having more fighters to choose from. It may cause balance issues, but it also allows more variety, options, and replay value.

Well if you like getting owned in fighting games, that's interesting....and weird
That's the first time I've actually heard someone who'd sacrifice unbalance for variety. As if 26 characters isn't more than what stuff like Blazblue has. Funny how you contradict yourself.
By the way, I still don't see how SFIV copied SNK's gauges in any way

It's all rumors, most of it debunked and ridiculed at www.Capco-untity.com
That list is way off, I've followed SF's development very well. And that list doesn't make sense at all.
Furthermore, I heard it was some post made by ONE GUY and people started to claim it was true.
