God Of War Collection Shaping Up To Be A Truly Hot Item

When we first heard that Sony was sprucing up the first two God of War titles for a sweet Blu-Ray re-release on the PS3, we were duly excited. And we clearly weren't the only ones.

The God of War Collection is now the "Most Wished For" video game for the PlayStation 3 at Amazon.com, and it's also #5 on the overall list concerning all video game software and hardware. If you've already forgotten, both titles featured will boast stunning 1280 x 720 resolution while still pushing a silky smooth 60 frames per second, and you can nab it all for the price of $36.99. Well, that's the special Amazon press; if you picked it up from GameStop or any other retailer, it'll go for the standard $39.99, and we still consider that a damn good deal. It launches on November 10 and although that's the same day as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the God of War Collection should do just fine on its own. We're talking about two of the highest-reviewed titles in history and there's no chance the millions of fans wouldn't be enthusiastic about this bad-ass remake. Besides, with God of War III set for March, this is the perfect lead-up, don't you think?

So anyway, if you're not one of the many who are looking forward to this Collection, you may need to reassess your gaming priorities. Oh, we all have our own personal preferences but if you don't like GoW...I mean, there's gotta be something wrong with you. ;)

Day 1 purchase for me. I've briefly played the 1st modern warfare and wasn't drawn into to it so I could care less about the newest installment; Killzone 2 still fulfills my shooter needs. Also, I'm not a fan of Kotick...

I heard GT PSP will be running at 60 FPS, I heard it in the GT interview on the PS Store. (In games section, go to new releases)

i also never played God of War 1 or 2 on PS2. i started playing 2 on my PS3 and it looks damn amazing still... better than some early PS3 games. when i found out about this collection i stopped playin 2 immediatly to wait for this and start with the first one. i beat chains of olympus on my psp and that made me want to play 2 when a buddy borrowed it to me. now i will just wait for the PS3 upgrade and get all 3 games for my PS3 collection.

I preordered it, I was going to wait to see if there was a CE that had all three but figured it would be a good idea to replay the originals before GoW3 comes out. And it's cheap.

I for one will be giving this collecting a try. I never played any GOW game and with the updated graphics(and the great price, 40 dollers for 2 games) I'm sure it will be worth it.

Sidenote: Does any1 know if Dead Rising 2 will come out this year, there hasn't been much coverage on this game anywhere.

Having these games with spruced up graphics and trophies for a meager 37 bux is the best damn deal I've ever seen. Anyone who hasn't played these games is missing out on some of the best games ever made.

I have a friend who said he would like a ps3 but doesn't want to get a new one because he will not be able to play his old ps2 games on it. The only thing is he only owns the god of war games and mgs games. So maybe he'll get one now.

Your friend is a fool if his reason for not buying a current gen system is its inability to play past gen software. Especially since everyone by now possesses the hardware capable of playing past gen games. You need to remind him he could have had this particular feature had he stood behind Sony instead of waiting to find an excuse as lame as the one you mention.

I gave my PS2 away before GOW II came out. Now I truly regret that moment. But a 720p + trophies, not to mention the fact I have never played GOW II before. It would be stellar!

I hope they add a feature in God of War 1
where, when you finish the game once and using that save you can start a new game with all health and weapons maxed out.Like in God of war 2.

A no-brainer. God of War is as great a series as anything out there.

Oh, and as for Modern Warfare 2 competition -- I never got the appeal of the Modern Warfare series, frankly. A little TOO realistic for my tastes, y'know? I'll check out part 2 to see what all the fuss is about, but it's certainly NOT going to interfere with a God of War purchase.

Its more trendy to hate on Modern warfare thanks to Kotex, but I loved COD4 on the 360 and will be picking up the sequel and aswell as the God of War
Collection for the PS3 on release day.

Man, I haven't checked the site since Saturday. Yesterday I ordered Demon's Souls Deluxe Edition and, you guessed it....God of War compilation. From none other than Amazon.

I guess I wasn't the only one to order GOW1 and 2.
