More European Evidence Supports 250GB PS3 Slim Rumor
Not long ago, we learned from a European source that Sony might be releasing a slew of 250GB PS3 Slim bundles in that region; packages included the likes of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, FIFA 10, and Assassin's Creed II.
Sony completely denied the existence of the supposedly leaked Uncharted 2 bundle, calling it a "complete fabrication." But now, more evidence has arisen, as Joystiq received a couple images this morning from "an alleged Norwegian GameStop employee." The first image shows what appears to be an internal company e-mail, providing instructions and details concerning the upcoming 250GB PS3 bundles, and the packages listed include ones with Need for Speed: SHIFT and Uncharted 2. In the second image - shown here - the tipster is showing us the computer screen at the store, which also shows 250GB PS3 bundle SKUs, and you can see one for "Ratchet" right there; this would obviously include Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time. Thing is, it was SCEA that denied the Uncharted 2 250GB PS3 Slim package; there has been no denial (or confirmation) from SCEE. Therefore, there's a possibility that such bundles may exist, but also might be exclusive to European and PAL regions. Of course, we still believe SCEA has something up their sleeves for the holiday rush...
Even though TGS is a Japanese-centric game show, that doesn't mean they don't make worldwide announcements there, so perhaps we'll learn about the 250GB PS3 Slim - and all possible bundles - at that time. Just a few more days to wait!

As for any over heating, I haven't experienced any yet. It seems to run a bit cooler then my 60gb model so hopefully I don't have any over heating issues. Is your friends console over heating or the hard drive? I know Sony recommends staying with a 5400rpm drive. The 7200rpms get hot quickly
If you are using the full back up and restore option that's in the System settings then it should back up everything and restore it just as it was. After you restore everything should be there and operate the same. Note: if you ever get a slim and want to back up your data the same way it won't work. You'll have to copy everything manually and redownload all your PSN Content as well as reinstall all your games. a Backup file made on one console will not restore properly on another. Only works if your just changing the hard drive, not if your switching to another console. It's a bummer and something Sony should address. I lost all my KZ2 data because it's locked.

I can see the argument for charging $399 for it but I don't know. Might alienate some potential buyers.

your kidding right?
just because sony denies something does not mean its not true.
ive noticed 99% of the time if they say no comment its true, otherwise its being thought of.
how may times did they deny the PSP go or the ps3 slim?
why would sony release said bundles in europe and not in the US, that makes absolutely no seance.
but than neither does releasing games here month or so after the US, so since its sony it wouldent surprise me.
