Uncharted Will Continue "As Long As The Fans Want It"
Yesterday, we learned that Infinity Ward has no intention of making another Modern Warfare, but don't think for one second that Naughty Dog will stop with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
Jeff Rubenstein from the PlayStation Blog recently interviewed Naughty Dog's Amy Hennig and she filled us in on plenty of behind-the-scenes details. One of the first questions she fielded was one of the most important: "Is this the last of Uncharted?" Thankfully, the reply was, "No, Uncharted will keep coming as long as the fans want it." There's no doubt that this franchise has the staying power to stick around for a very long time, and we're plenty enthusiastic about its impending longevity (more awesomeness for us!). Check out the rest of that video interview, too; Hennig reminds us there are more adventure and platforming aspects than one might think and it's not entirely a shooter. We also hear again about those 90 minutes of cut-scenes and being big fans of great game stories, it's one of the most appealing factors in our eyes. With the unbelievable review scores rolling in, you probably don't need any more incentive to pick this game up come October 13, but more info and details can help to whet the appetite. ...or it can make you even more impatient.
Does anyone think the fans won't want another entry after Uncharted 2? Is that even the slightest possibility? At this point, it seems highly unlikely.

COD and MW were generic FPS in their first try, it's no surprise years later the formula has become blah.

As for Uncharted, I am loving the demo/beta I have put a ton of time into it. If they keep adding onto this series with the improvements they have made from 1 to 2 I will keep buying them. Most important though is they have to keep the good story going.

anbyone having problems with the uncharted 2 beta?
last night it took me like 20 minutes to connect, 20 minutes to find a game, find players than 4 times in a row once i got into the game it froze and i had to leave.
2 hours gone and i did not get 1 bloody game in.
i hope its not like that tonight.
why dont your stats carry over once the game is out?
this is just silly to me, i mean the beta is going open to everyone soon so i cant see any reason to reset everyones stats.
just annoying i see no point spending hours playing this ranking myself up, than having to do it all over again once the games out.

It really matters a lot that the main character is someone one can actually relate to or like (no, not that way).
But yes, loved Uncharted1, that game is really something. I thought the ending my disappoint, but man I was shocked at how well they put the whole game together.
To beat out Killzone 2 and even GT5 really tells you something. Naughty Dog and quality are synonymous.
By the way, to those who think Naughty Dog will dull the franchise out. Well how 'bout Crash Bandicoot? and Jak? Did they dull those out?
Wouldn't you guys love a new Jak (or Crash) game?
I see Uncharted staying as strong as Metal Gear or Gran Turismo, if they feel like it.

Heck I must admit am kinda upset we're gonna play SOAP again in MW2, I like new heroes.
We didn't play Cloud or Tommy Vercetti in San Andreas and GTAIV. But anyway I think Nathan Drake is a difficult character to get rid off but yet still it'd be better to have new ones.
Don't you think people were tired of seeing same ol' Lara Croft?

i hope they dont push it back again to crank out another uncharted. I know theyre not big enough to do an alternating 2-year production cycle (like Insomniac does with Resistance and R&C) but still! i've been waiting too long...

Jak and Daxter was good and it seemed more mature.
Uncharted seems more mature than that again. It seems Naughty Dog make games to suit my aging process...spooky!!ha
Is it just me or are there no non human characters these days? Sonic, Crash, Spyro esque?

Now, about that PS3 being able to emulate the PS2 and Dream cast....I still think the PS3 could emulate an original Xbox better than the 360. Halo on PS3 anyone?

...Jooke; Naughty Dog doesn't fail. Just look at Crash Bandicoot [before they sold it off] and Jak & Daxter. They know the difference between when something is still awesome & when something is just being milked, and the title of this article explains how they figure this. It's a reason why they always start off with a new franchise everytime a PS successor gets released. Kudos to them for always selling fresh fish.
I wonder when they will do in the next era...
