Capcom Announces Devil Kings 3
See Full ImageCapcom has announced two new games and while one of them is exclusive to the Nintendo DS, the other will be headed to both the PlayStation 3 and Wii.
It's known as Sengoku BASARA Samurai Heroes in Japan, but we'll know it as Devil Kings 3 in North America. Past entries in the series have always appeared on PlayStation platforms but this new installment will boast faster, flashier gameplay, ala Devil May Cry. We'll get over two dozen playable characters, you'll take the field against hundreds of bloodthirsty opponents and DMC producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi is currently working on the project. Furthermore, for the very first time in the series, the PS3 version will have online co-op play, which could be an absolute blast if you've got a friend who enjoys hackin' and slashin'. The structure appears to be similar to Dynasty Warriors but with that added DMC-ish panache, the final production might be that much fresher and more appealing. Of course, we would much rather have heard about Devil May Cry 5 at TGS but perhaps we just have to wait a bit longer... Don't leave the avid franchise fans hanging, Capcom!
Devil Kings 3 is slated to arrive in North America and Europe some time next year. We'll try to scrounge up more details and information - and hopefully some media - in the meantime.

I'm not sure if Sengoku BASARA Samurai Heroes is Devil Kings 3 or if it is just a side story (the way Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes was a "sequel" to Sengoku Basara 2) because I recall Capcom announcing Sengoku Basara 3 for the Wii, which would be Devil Kings 3.

Ok ok, excluding DMC4 for you DMC fans out there. I personally don't like DMC but I can respect others fondness for it.

True. But then why are there so many JRPGs and shmups releasing exclusively on the 360 in Japan? Two genres that historically sell better in Japan than elsewhere. It doesn't make any sense to me.

The best DMC to date has gotta be DMC3 Special Edition.
Anyway, I've always liked Devil Kings 1, its similar to dynasty warriors but it has its own touch n it feels much more intense than dynasty warriors IMO, so I'm really looking forward to Devil Kings 3!!

Capcom is probably just waiting to announce DMC5 when they actually have something to show off. Do you want Capcom to just go, 'hey everyone, we're making DMC5, but we don't have any media so here's the game's logo.,' like SCEA did when they announced Agent?
