PSXE Poll Update: Gamers Will Be Selective In Q4
While I personally have a sneaking suspicion that the mass media helped to create a recession where one didn't really exist simply in order to generate an excuse to bail out American car companies, some people are still a little light in the pockets.
And this sort of came through in our recent poll; either that, or we've got some smart, selective gamers who aren't about to spend their hard-earned money on every last good title that comes down the pike. Perhaps available time is a bit of an issue, too. The majority of PSXE readers polled said they'd buy 3-5 games during the holiday rush, which may seem like a good chunk, but over 1,100 of the 1,500 or so individuals won't buy any more than five games over the next three months. Of course, I imagine many of you are hoping you won't have to buy a few of the games you desperately want; maybe you're just overloading your holiday wish list. But either way, this poll suggests that it'll be an ultra-competitive marketplace as many big games strive to stand out in the crowd. The consumers are only going to shell out for the best of the best, so developers and publishers had best deliver their best efforts possible!
This week, we'd like to know how many of you are planning on a PSP Go purchase. It launches on Thursday, October 1, and we'd like to think there are plenty of excited people out there. But with a $250 price tag and a lack of a UMD-to-digital conversion program right now, some of you are likely to wait a bit...and don't worry, that's one of the options. Vote now! :)

Of course, I need to save some money to ensure I don't miss out on all that early 2010 greatness, so I won't splurge.
Honestly, I wouldn't be picking up a PSP Go, except my housemate broke our PSP and I simply MUST play 'Peace Walker.'
And personally, I will likely always prefer my media physically represented, but I'll only be chipping in for a portion of another PSP as opposed to my housemate who will be paying for the majority of it, so I have little say in what model we get, unfortunately.

There are people who are going to buy the GoW collection, and how long ago did those games come out. There are people only now moving from PS2 to PS3... I am sure some of them will go back and buy Metal Gear Solid 4 and maybe some of the previous CoD titles, Little Big Planet etc etc... who are only getting into the online action now...
It is all to play for I think, and nothing would have changed two years from now. I am still playing online CoD III !!!

1. Demon's Souls Collector's Edition
2. GOW Collection
3. Magna Carta II (360)
4. Assassin's Creed 2
5. Ninja Gaiden Sigma II
That is about it before 2010. (partially due to many big titles are released in the first half year of 2010, not within 2009)
2010 must buy for me so far:
1. FF13
2. GOW3
3. Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker
4. Metal Gear Solid Rising
5. The Last Guardian
6. Dante's Inferno
7. Bayonetta
8. Darksiders
9. Castlevania Lords of Shadow
10. WKC
11. Resonance of Fate
12. Nier
13. FF Versus 13 (if done in 2010)
14. FF14
15. Star Ocean 4 International Edition
not in any priority order, all are awesome to me. and yes I am very selective, you can see NO FPS, NO SPORTS GAMES, NO RACING GAMES... JUST JRPG AND Action/Adventure
P.S. Definitely not going to get the PSP Go, cuz I dont want formless digital games, I want game with a physical shape with box art lol. Instead, I will save the money and pre-order the pink sexy and sleek FF13 PS3 Slim bundle.
That is the plan so far and I will not hesitate to spoil myself with all the goodies :O

I was considering getting a psp go after the rumors of a pre-mature price cut to the GO, but now that we are so close to launch it seems unlikely, so I'm ganna have to skip. $250 dollers for a psp go is just wrong and it sucks becuase I really want one.

but only because i can take them back and get a full refund and move on to the next.
as for the poll, im predicting 20% or less of people will buy a psp go.
70% because of its price.
seriously 450 AUD?
you have to be insane in the membrane.
50 bucks more and you have a bluray player!!
and the last 30% because you have to download your games.
it took me 96 hours to download the mag beta.
what if there is 4 PSP games that i want to buy?
there normally 1GB each so thats 4 GBs.
if 2.66GBs takes 96 hours than 4GBs would take roughly 192 hours.
no thanks, i could probably swim to america buy the games and get back by then.
it would be less stressful to.

1)PS3
2)Killzone 2
3)Resistance 2
4)Uncharted 2
5)Ratchet and Clank A Crack in Time
6)God of war collection
7)Tekken 6
All these will definitely burn a hole in my pocket but hey, whatever it takes for a gamer.
I'm not that interested in buying multiplats because I can get them cheaper for the 360.
Here's why, Assasin's Creed:
PS3 version cost RM100+
360 version cost RM10 ONLY.
See? The difference between Blu-ray and pirated DVD XD.

As far as the PSP Go, forget about it. Way too expensive. I thought it was kind of cute until they announced the price - then I just laughed.

The only games I have to get before the end of the year is Katamari forever,Demons souls,FF crystal chronicals the ring bearer,Eyepet,GOW collection. 3 of them are gifts for my hubby and son so ya we'll see what happens.
I think the PSPGO is cool but I just can't afford that at this time plus would I actually even use it? that is the question I have a DS and never really use it at all.

I'll MAYBE buy 1-3 more games this year for multiple reasons( not including UC2 since its paid for already), none of which is economy related. GT5 and MAG are out next year, those would have been bought this year. I will probably get Dirt2, hopefully my brothers will be done with Shift soon so I can borrow that one once MW2 comes and they are fixated on that game.
