Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Public Demo Kicks Off Today
Uncharted 2: Among ThievesWe say it may very well be the biggest multiplayer demo in history, what with its massive 1.5GB worth of content and nearly 80% of all the booster skills that will be available in the final version. So don't you want to sample it?
If you had the game pre-ordered from GameStop, you already had access a few weeks ago but if not, you can jump in as of today. This awesome demo is open to the public as of September 29, and with 4 maps, 2 co-op maps, new skins, the ability to create custom game modes for you and your friends, there's plenty to do. We're not sure if Sony will send out an official press release about this, but we haven't forgotten the date and we just had to remind you. We'd also like to add that even if you were in the beta test earlier this year, you'll definitely want to join in on the fun. They've added a whole lot more; the beta really only consisted of two maps, two modes, and a small handful of boosters, so the increase in content is indeed substantial. The game launches on October 13 so you'll certainly be able to play online when you buy the game - which you're definitely gonna do, right? - but we know some of you can be a little impatient. So we're keepin' you updated.
Oh, and the average review score at this point is something super ridiculously high, like nine and a half, or something. Game of the Year? Yeah, we think so. But I maintain that inFamous isn't quite getting enough attention in the "best of the year" categories.

That above comment means it's available to ANYONE as of today.
John was a little off on a few details concerning the BestBuy buy 1 get another 1/2 off a few weeks back, let's hope he's correct on this. I've been checking the PSN several times and yet to see it available for download.

the level that they showed at E3, are there going to be more maps that gameplay style?
thats by far my favorite mode in the beta and im really hopeing they add more on the games release.
other than that theres only 2 co-op maps where you have to collect the treasure and survive the onslaught.
i hope there still working on the MP because the connection times are horrendous.
it takes me like 10 minutes to connect to the servers, 10 minutes to find a bloody game and get started.
than theres so much lag its driving me nuts.
you stand on a item, hit triangle 17 million times 10 seconds later you pick up the item.
i got killed so many times last night because i was trying to pick up items and did not notice a enemy creeping up on me.
another thing they need to fix is the melee.
allot of the times i would go to melee a enemy, instead he melees me i turn around and he strangles me, you mash triangle like a 5 year old on red cordial but you still die.
once they fix the connection speeds, in game lag, and melle/ strangle things its all good.
the matchmaking system should be like MAG.
i played it for the first time today, 2 minutes to connect to servers 2 minutes to select layout 2 minutes to find game and get cracking.
and no lag what so ever.
uncharted 2 needs to be more like mag and less like resistance 2.

I also agree that inFAMOUS is a very underrated game and feel that if P'type had released first everyone would have accepted how much better inFAMOUS is than that game(which was ok but just not in the same class as SP's great effort)-a lot of 360 only gamers were so keen for it to beat inFAMOUS that they really went OTT supporting a game PS3 gamers could play anyway. If they'd layed it pre inFAMOUS then it would've been forgotten and each would have stood on it's own merits I feel.
Oh, whatever, can't wait for some more U2 MP to see if it's even better now! So 'opefully it's in the eU store this evening! Also, very impressed that the scores for U2 have been so high(even a 21/20!)and am VERY interested to see how Eurogamer(UK) and the 360 loving Edge spin their 7/10's when they land! And, trust me, they will score it lower than "Let's Tap" and you ALL know it! In just the same way that R2 and MGS4 and KZ2 weren't up to those tapping minigames!

i played the mag beta for 3 hours today and had not 1 problem.
connecting was lightning fast.
matchmaking was lightning fast.
gameplay was lag free.
gameplay was connection error free.
than i try to play uncharted 2 beta.
first try to connect error try again, second time 10 minutes later im in.
matchmaking 10 minutes later im in a game.
than 4 games in a row as soon as im in connection error.
than 5th game i finished.
than 6th game connection error as soon as i get in.
7th game i get half way through than connection error.
and this is a multiplayer demo?
god this is what i would be expecting from a game a year from release.
not 3 weeks from release.
come on ND dont dissapoint me!
every single game sony has released has been fooked online.
resistance 2 fu**ed.
killzone 2 fu**ed.
uncharted 2 well it aint looking good.

evan wells confirmed that on the psn blog thats why your stats will be wiped once release.
tried to play again today.
2 games entered, and 2 drop outs.

Hopefully I'll finally be able to find a co-op game with more than one other person, haven't been able to find 3 in a while. Still an awesome friggin game though!! I'm assuming it drops tonight at midnight somewhere, not sure which time zone.
