Matt Hazard: Blood, Bath And Beyond Set For PSN/XBLA
Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard didn't turn out too well; it was a fantastically humorous premise but the execution left a lot to be desired.
Well, maybe the downloadable sequel will be better. D3 recently trademarked the name, "Matt Hazard: Blood, Bath and Beyond" but at the time, we didn't have any further details. But now, according to Joystiq, it will be a new title for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace. Maybe they just needed to streamline the idea and not try so hard to make a next-gen production; maybe the simplified structure will allow Matt Hazard to shine a little brighter. If you never knew, Eat Lead was all about this washed-up fictional video game hero from the '80s, but gets another chance to head out and battle the most stereotypical and cliched game foes in history. They got some great voiceover talent for it - led by Will Arnett and Neil Patrick Harris - but it just didn't work, as the gameplay fell well short of expectations and as a direct result, it failed to register with critics. But oddly enough, they're giving it another shot in digital format, and really...maybe it's the best way to go. The very idea seems to lend itself more to a smaller title with a smaller budget, if that makes any sense at all.
Anyway, here's hoping Matt Hazard: Blood, Bath and Beyond is worth playing when it arrives in February. If it's not, well, at least they tried again.

The developers planned to do this all along.
In the original articles on Matt Hazard, the developer said it would release Eat Lead first and the "original" '80s game that Hazard starred in later; so, this is kind of old news.
(BTW, for the record, I didn't thumb you down. This is ridiculous. People go around thumbing people down for having an opinion.)
