Crytek UK Has A New FPS...But It Isn't TimeSplitters 4
When Free Radical was forced to close its doors late last year, we figured the possibility of a new TimeSplitters closed with them. But then Crytek came to the rescue and since then, they've become Crytek UK and are in the process of working on Crysis 2 for next-gen consoles and the PC.
But when asked, the team would always say that TimeSplitters 4 might still happen if the fans wanted it. There was also a rumor going around that Crytek had started work on a different FPS and the die-hard TS fans automatically chose to assume it's the aforementioned franchise's fourth installment. Unfortunately, that idea has been dealt a significant blow, as Crytek UK's "unofficial blog" says they are indeed working on a new FPS...but it ain't TimeSplitters 4. They do, however, say it's original and will boast multiplayer and single-player quality similar to what we're used to from the TS series. Said Karl Hilton:
"This could possibly be bad news for the future of TimeSplitters 4 as new ideas are being put forward while TimeSplitters 4 is being left behind."
But if you still want to lobby for TS4, feel free. You just need to give voice to your opinion, and make sure that Crytek UK hears it. You never know what might happen in the future and besides, we're always interested to hear about any project that uses that very sweet CryEngine. And Hilton does say that if the demand is there, when the time comes, they'll be "ready for it." Well, let's hope so.

no im serious.
am i the only person who actually enjoyed haze?
it did one thing games have forgotten how to do these days.
it had COMBAT VARIETY.
only 3 games this gen have done this.
1 gears of war.
2 gears of war 2.
3 HAZE.
in most games like killzone 2 or resistance 2 or what ever.
the way you take out every single enemy is the same.
take cover, pop up take a few shots, take cover take a few shots, reload, rinse and repeat.
thats the whole game.
try that in gears 2 and you will get your ass whopped because theres tickers, and those massive guys swinging grenades around.
haze was also like this, your playing as mantel juiced up on nectar at times, at times over dosed and going berserk, other times your having a mental breakdown.
than the game gets turned on its head and your playing as the other team.
and your abilities and how you fight your enemies is turned on its head.
haze keeps the combat fresh how you fight a battle is never repeated.
thats what i was really expecting from KZ2 and was disappointed.
and at the end of HAZE it quite obviously is suggesting a sequel.
it had its problems but that was because sony does not know how to support 3rd party developers, thats why there are very few 3rd party exclusives for sony where M$ and ninty have them coming out of the wazzoo.
know that should not be a problem because EA can publish the game, and crytek can keep a eye on them.
theres no way there letting these guys come out with a half baked game, crytek spew nothing but quality.
one of the very few devs out there and thats why they will always be my favorite.
compromise nothing for quality, quality is always our highest priority.
hey i just found my new motto.
