GameStop: Midnight Launch Fun For Uncharted 2, Brutal Legend
You know that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves arrives on October 13, but we've done our best to remind you that Brutal Legend drops that same day and maybe, just maybe, you'll want both.
Or even if you only want one or the other, you might want to drop in on GameStop during their midnight launch that will celebrate the release of both titles. Over 800 GameStop stores around the country will be holding midnight festivities for Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend; we assume it'd be a good idea to arrive a few hours before the clock strikes midnight on October 13. If you want to check if your local GameStop will be participating in the fun, just check the full list; it's likely you live near a location that will indulge you. For the record, pre-ordering either of these games gets you an added bonus: for Uncharted 2, you'll get an exclusive in-game Revenge Attribute Bonus that allows the player to utilize this booster right from the start during the online multiplayer portion. If you pre-order Tim Schafer and Double Fine's latest, you'll get an exclusive Tenacious D guitar/weapon that will not only have a unique cosmetic look, but it'll also boast singular sound effects, a new visual effects suite, and new voiceover work from Jack Black. As usual, October is shaping up to be a big month so why not join in early? You got nothing else to do on a Monday night...right?
You've already seen our review of Uncharted 2 - pretty damn good, no? - and you can expect our analysis of Brutal Legend not long after the game hits store shelves.

but i still like and shop at gamestop. they do have a good business plan. their employees need better training cuz they dont know their own company policies, or/and they dont know what their talking about when they talk about games.

There are at least three mom and pops that are still around, (one of them is only a year old), and they all specialize in old and new games. These stores keep the hardcore gamers happy, and have built a solid fanbase. Gamestop only goes back to, what, PS1? When is the last time you saw Nintendo 8-bit, Genesis, Dreamcast, etc. games at Gamestop? There are people out there who still play these games. Fortunately for the mom and pop's, Gamestop doesn't feel these titles are economically viable. Their shortsighted business practices are the only thing keeping the smaller guys alive right now .... because unfortunately, when it comes down to it, most people will trade loyalty and morality for cheaper prices.
I will always support the little guy. But then again, I am a bull-headed idealist.

If your mad cus they supposably shut down mom and pop game stores thats dumb. If you owned a business your telling me that you'd want other stores around? competition is great and all but the more customors the marrier.
Gamestop has midnight releases, they always have the game in or at your door step day of release if you order with same day shipping, if your on their mailing list they have incentives galore like trade in bonuses, buy two used get one free deals, etc. etc. i see no harm in them except that they sell used games at a rip off price and maybe dont give you what you feel your most beloved game is really worth.
Point is ive ran into stores like best buy, and play-n-trade, where i reserved COD:MW and army of two and they dont show up for 2 days after the release, you know how aggrivating it is to walk into gamestop ask if they have any copies left after being failed by two other large companies and they say should have pre-ordered with us cus that guy in front of you walked out with the last copy of COD:MW, its more aggrivating than, well, alot of things!
And im in oregon and the gamestop here sells older games from older systems as well(genesis, snes), and even though i just sold out play-n-trade they do also here in oregon! its not just the mom and pop stores so expand your horizons a lil bit ;)! On the flip side of that though you will find those older games for older systems way cheaper on ebay and most dont even ask you pay shipping, than that in a local smaller store. so if you can wait a day or two for shipping which you obviously can since youve waited thus long, if you still dont have that specific game, then it may not be worth it in gas these days to drive 4 miles into town to the nearest local game store ;)!
Bottom line Gamestop has done no harm and do alot more for gaming! It's a store they sell games, its not a PRISON!

My only problem with gamestop is they over charge for used games and they don't clean up the discs. Also money that spent there is money the developers aren't getting. I only buy games new there cause it's close and convienient.

But gamestop always has my game instock and on time so i cant complain too much cus thats all i ask really!
I dont do much trading i have a hard time giving up my games, and if i buy a used game its cus its worth the price or im low on cash, the other 90% of the time i buy new!

I buy games from Amazon pretty much exclusively these days as they always have it in stock and they tend to be cheaper including shipping.

seriously?
you have any idea how much it would cost them to open at midnight?
by law they would have to pay every employee there double time, and have to make sure its ok with the complex managers.
i hate gamestop as much as the next guy but this gamestop hate PS3 mentality is just BS!

it's the only place in town i can still get retro games from... games for the 64 and gameboy's... i always get the "WTF" treatment when i mention PS1 or 64 games in gamestop... lol, i always ask someone i know i haven't asked before... they treat me like i'm an inferior or an idiot... it's funny, you should try it at least once...

As for gamecrazys, every gamecrazy store i know in vegas are disappearing, i guess its only natural since their employees are even more clueless than gamestop.

NGS2,opperation flashpoint dragon rising, brutal ledgend,SAW and uncharted 2 will be sitting on my shelf.
now how the %$#^am i suppose to finish 5 games in 20 days in time for R&C ACIT.
guess i wont be finishing NGS2 for a while, that game is fu**ing hard!
i wished they washed it down a little from g2 to s2, gaiden was to hard and had to many boss battles.
so what do they do?
they add MORE boss battles making the game HARDER!
thats logic for ya!
