White Knight Chronicles Sequel: Info And Screens Revealed
Yeah, we know North American and European gamers don't have the first White Knight Chronicles yet, and while those lucky dudes and dudettes over there in Japan already have the "EX" version, we're still waiting over here. And now, details on the sequel... Maybe we should apologize.
Anyway, Andriasang has a whole host of new screenshots and information for White Knight Chronicles 2, which Level 5 has obviously been developing for quite some time. First revealed at last month's Tokyo Game Show, the game can be called "White Knight Chronicles: Awakening of Light and Darkness" and it is a true sequel; it definitely "follows the events of the original." In this continuation, main character Leonard has struck a contract with one of the five giant knights, and he and his team unlocked the secrets of the ancient Dogma War. We can expect an "expanded scale" as when you first start the game, the City of Greed, Kingdom of Barandel and the Magic Republic of Foria are all in trouble somehow. So you'll once more create your own custom character and join Leonard in another quest to restore peace to the world and this time, you might be able to transform (as evidenced by those screens and a mysterious mention in Famitsu). Then there's the addition of that fifth White Knight - there were only four in the original game - and that new hero is called the "Moon Princess;" she will represent the first female knight. Yeah, we needed a lady.
The combat system should remain pretty much the same, although it seems Level 5 will be adding some new skills and "readjusting the balance of current skills," and furthermore, each member of the party will play more significant roles in the sequel. So as time progresses, expect to hear more about the game, although we imagine all you RPG fans here in the US and across the pond in Europe are simply waiting for the day the first WKC hits store shelves. Let's hope it's not too much longer.

WKC2 sounds nice, an improvement over the original. Enhancements, tweaks and such. Perhaps the sequel will not see such a long gap between the Japanese release and the Western release.

don't know what they are doing with this game, and i don't know what is taking so long to just translate the damn language. normally the localization only takes 6-8 months.
p.s. the more i look at this game, the less exciting I feel about it -- last year, when no other titles were close to release, this one stands out; but now, we have Demon's Souls out, which I think is the greatest this generation so far on PS3, plus the FF13 and Resonance of Fate are coming in 6-8 months, I don't feel WKC is as attractive as it was last year.
They missed out the best time to release the game, and now when they release, it can't compete with the FF13, 14, Nier, Versus 13 and Resonance of Fate. They must learn a lesson by missing out the best time to release, it is just so annoying (1.5 year to just translate )

For me its the opposite, the more i hear/see of it, the more im thinking its the ONE. It quite literally has the most advanced, unique online component on consoles, which is also what they have been working on before releasing here.

Versus?! Wow, somebody is optimistic...
I doubt we'll be seeing Versus in Japan until mid-2011 at the earliest, which means we won't see it here until late 2011. I would add Atelier Rorona to that the list of competitors, though.
Still, I agree with you. To me WKC looks really generic. It would have been nice if we got it during the great RPG droubt of last year, but now that there are some decent offerings on the table I just can't get excited about WKC.

watch, before any of those comes out, ff15 would be announced or at least a screenshot. than new trailers for a ff7 would come out while declining the remake rumor. i guess its the new trend.

i mean there doing everything the asian devs are they not?
from what i understand all the asian devs doing is translating the audio from asian to english and other languages, and changing the subtitles.
but does not every other game have to do that?
its BS that we have to wait like 5 extra months for bayonetta just so they can translate the audio and subtitles.
how about western developers do the same thing and see how they like it, see how they like getting uncharted 2 or GOW3 or heavy rain 5 months after everyone else.
and just now i read a article saying japan may be the first to get access to the GOW 3 demo.
WWWWWWWWWWTTTTTTTTTTFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sony, are you trying to loose half your customers?
because your 100% on track to doing so!
