Yakuza 3 US-Bound, Courtesy of Sega?

Sega unveiled Yakuza 4 at the Tokyo Game Show last month, which we found kinda irritating...just because we're still not sure if the US will even see Yakuza 3.

But the rumor mill has churned out the possibility that Sega will indeed distribute the third installment in this solid franchise in North America (and possibly Europe). A NeoGaf member supposedly heard directly from the source that Yakuza 3 would be coming stateside, and it would be familiar to those who played the first two in this region. Basically, the Japanese voices will remain (no option for English voiceovers) and we'll just have to read the English subtitles. Oh, horrors! Well, we prefer it that way, anyway, and we honestly hope this inside information is accurate; Yakuza is a damn fun series and it's a shame that we don't see enough of it. Of course, even this secret source wouldn't reveal a release date for Yakuza 3 but that's okay, provided we do eventually see it. It'd be interesting to know how well the first two titles sold in this country because if they performed well, there's no reason why Sega should avoid us...

Anyway, if Yakuza 3 does pop up somewhere with a North American launch date, we'll be one of the first to let you know. It would make for a great addition to your PS3 library.

There is a demo on the Japanese PSN if you have or know how to make a Japanese account. The demo is pretty solid and fun

Yes, Yakuza games are good. Better than GTA series to me. I was afraid that it wouldn't be coming to North America. We got Demon's Souls why not Yakuza3? The wait will be worth it.

Didn't this rumor...come up a little bit before TGS as well...with all those Sega and Sony documents or whatever?

I guess with all this word going around that Ryu ga Gotoku 3 is coming here then YASASHII!!

Now regarding the picture...it's Yakuza Kenzan........AGAIN. But that's alright, you work hard enough for us.

Yes. Those documents hinted at this game coming via PSN on a new store site tab for import games.

I hope that happens. That way more people will be able to experience the joys of Japanese games that don't make it to the U.S. without having to deal with the hassle of importing those games.

Ya know I don't mind subtitles, fast reader, but you folks who automatically assume that its better when you can't even understand it leave me scratching my head.

That because the Yakuza games has one of the best cast for the voices..and the last dub was just horrible.

Its Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! on the picture, and not Ryu ga Gotoku III, otherwise good news.

I've played the first two and loved every minute of them. I can't wait to get my hands on part 3. I pray that they also bring part 4 to the U.S. as well. Ben, you and Arnold really deserve some kind of award for the hard work you guy's do.
