Yakuza 3 US-Bound, Courtesy of Sega?
Sega unveiled Yakuza 4 at the Tokyo Game Show last month, which we found kinda irritating...just because we're still not sure if the US will even see Yakuza 3.
But the rumor mill has churned out the possibility that Sega will indeed distribute the third installment in this solid franchise in North America (and possibly Europe). A NeoGaf member supposedly heard directly from the source that Yakuza 3 would be coming stateside, and it would be familiar to those who played the first two in this region. Basically, the Japanese voices will remain (no option for English voiceovers) and we'll just have to read the English subtitles. Oh, horrors! Well, we prefer it that way, anyway, and we honestly hope this inside information is accurate; Yakuza is a damn fun series and it's a shame that we don't see enough of it. Of course, even this secret source wouldn't reveal a release date for Yakuza 3 but that's okay, provided we do eventually see it. It'd be interesting to know how well the first two titles sold in this country because if they performed well, there's no reason why Sega should avoid us...
Anyway, if Yakuza 3 does pop up somewhere with a North American launch date, we'll be one of the first to let you know. It would make for a great addition to your PS3 library.

I hope that happens. That way more people will be able to experience the joys of Japanese games that don't make it to the U.S. without having to deal with the hassle of importing those games.
