Uncharted Prequel Announced, Save Data Incentives
Uncharted 2: Among ThievesThere was so much said in that live chat with Naughty Dog that we need to do two separate news headlines. Right, like you're tired of Uncharted 2...impossible!
First up, lead game designer Neil Druckmann made an "exclusive announcement" that involved a special prequel story to the original Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. No, it's not a game, but it's a "motion comic voiced by your favorite actors from the two games." This will be known as "Uncharted: Eye of Indra" and will boast a brand new character in the form of a girl named Rika; we can expect more information on this before the end of the year (presumably). And hey, if you've got complete game save data from Drake's Fortune on your PS3, you get an awesome bonus: Druckmann also mentioned that those people will get an extra $100,000 to spend in the store in Uncharted 2! Now that's what we like to see; incentives for being on board the Drake bandwagon before it became the toast of the town. If you don't already own the first Uncharted, we'll shake an admonishing "shame on you" finger and point you in the direction of the nearest game store; it's a Greatest Hit that you can nab for only $29.99. It's a must-play, too.
Everyone is Uncharted 2 crazy these days, and so are we. Nothing wrong with talking about one of the single greatest gaming accomplishments to date, right?

Seriously, gamers should pay a full $60 for Uncharted 1, that game deserves that kind of support. Still one of the best games I've played this gen.
The comic sounds awesome. Thank god it's not a real game, I personally don't like prequels, for the most part.

Shotgun is best for this part, one close range shot to the head and keep moving. When you hear Eleyna's voice, run to the rope in the middle of the circular stage and start climbing. Hope I didn't give away too much here for Uncharted fans or those who haven't reached this point.

Also, is the 100% save actually 100% (i.e., the autosave at the end of the game) or just a save with all of the "trophies" achieved?

now i really wish i did not get rid of my old ps3 all my save games were on there.
why the ^%#$ sony sees it necessary to format your drive when you put it in is beyond me.
why do they always have to make things difficult?

You just have to copy and save each save game individually to a flash drive or ext. HDD if you want to keep them.

Have got my preorder for Uncharted 2, am picking it up tomorrow morning and am gonna fail uni cos of it. DAMN YOU SONY!!!! Your brilliant games are ruining my uni grades!!!! (Uncharted 2 comes out 15th Oct in Australia, but thats a miracle for here, only big name titles get simultaneous release as US and UK)
Hehe, had some people trade their 360's and all their games towards a 250 GB PS3 and Uncharted 2 (with bonus COD 4 MW) for $596 AU. That's an insane deal at EB here. I kinda wished I'd waited for that rather than going the 40 GB PS3 with GTA IV bundle for $730. Ahhh memories. (I got a 320 gig HDD in my PS3 now, it's the ultimate entertainment hub that goes with me to friend's parties and is the highlight of my par-tays.

Anyway getting my Uncharted 2 limited edition with the steelbook case from JB tomorrow! Can't Wait. EB's limited edition is not as great and its way too expensive. I am getting the collectors edition from JB for $99AUD. Btw, Aus games are priced way too high. One game in US is bout 60 bucks, EB is selling like $110AUD for one? thats insane. Thats why most of my games are bought from Ebay. Much cheaper, bout 70+AUD on average or sometimes if i am lucky, I could get it bout 60+ for new games

Just a side note i had a few friends come in my room and sit down and watch me play yesterday, and one wasnt a fan of the first uncharted basically cus he only played it for an hour then shut it off and said it was boring, what and idiot. anyways they couldnt leave my room, and they all said this is like playing and watching a movie! they all loved it and sat and watched me play, not even asking to take turns playing just watched for over 3 hours and enjoyed it the experience so much they are still talking about it. If a game can do that for people, being enjoyable to watch and not play, its accomplished more than it needed and far surpasses any game experience ive dealt with!
Ive said it before the first was just as entertaining and both in my opninion can teach hollywood a thing or two. I think both games in the uncharted series are like playing movies, and both are as equally entertaining on dif. grounds. I cant say enough about Uncharted 2: among thieves so far, this series from the start has blown my mind and now im just dumb founded!
After starting Uncharted 2 up last night and only getting 33% thorugh it, i can sure heartedly say this is one of the best, and my personal favorite games series of all time. and to top it off, theres a prequal in motion comic form. what more can we ask for from Naughty Dog? Is it too early to ask for another sequal? please!?!?

I concur. Its a big shame if you haven't played Drake's Fortune but its a bigger pain if you once had it like me.
I guess I might have to re-buy it but not now, this should come down as my second re-purchase this gen after MGS4.

they (ND) said in an interview they wanted everyone to have an equal chance at an incentive for playing uncharted and that trophies have nothing to do with it. even though i got the platinum, it shouldn't matter!
