Man Thinks He's In Silent Hill, Causes Hospital Blackout
Silent Hill is arguably the creepiest, freakiest video game franchise out there, just in terms of sheer atmospheric tension and enough mystical fear to make your skin crawl. So yeah, bad dreams may be inevitable.
But when you're not 100% healthy, an experience like that can have a debilitating effect. According to GameGrep, a 35-year-old man caused a blackout at the Sophia Hospital in the Netherlands because he believed he was actually in Silent Hill. Nobody got hurt and thankfully, "Jan H." didn't take the next step and start taking weapons to patients he believed might be demonic mannequins, but elevators did get stuck and employees were forced to manually respirate patients in the intensive care unit. It took 45 minutes to restore power but like we said, there were no reported injuries. In court last week, the man said he suffered a psychological break of some kind that told him if he shut the hospital's power down, he could get a toothbrush that would let him solve a Silent Hill puzzle. As a result, Jan H. was found not guilty; the ruling said he "had no idea of the true consequences of his deed" and will now have the benefit of psychiatric treatment. Perhaps it was the hospital environment that triggered the psychosis; those of you who are familiar with the franchise will know what I mean...
Well, having my degree in Psychology, I'd say none of this is impossible and the ruling is fair but you watch...the anti-game activists will find some way to protest against Konami. Just wait. You'll see.

Of course, this isn't a worry anymore as Silent Hill ended that very year and won't return.

Edit: Keep in mind that I play horror games the way they're meant to be: alone in the dark, with surround sound if possible. :P

Bare in mind the game hit 10 years of age this year and it still puts horror games and films to shame.
*NOTE TO ALL* DON'T GET ANY NEW "SILENT HILL" GAME THAT COMES OUT! im passionate about the series and its hurtfull to watch it become dumbed down and ruined by these terrible western insults. Silent Hill is a franchise that ended in 04. (i will put this on any Silent Hill article because it deserves respect)

Cool! I just got killed by Arnold Leafinator!
But if you really think about it, almost every video game that has been released is about war in some way or form.
(At least every good game)
Call Of Duty, Killzone, LittleBig.. Er, Uncharted, MAG, Crysis, Quake, Grand Theft Auto, the list goes on for what seems to be forever.
But when video games were first invented, we had games without a lot of violence, such as Tetris, Super Mario Brothers, Donkey Kong, Pong, Pac-man.
Then in the early 90's, there were more violent games such as Virtual Cop, Virtual Fighter, then in mid to late 90's there was Grand Theft Auto, Golden Eye, and more.
What happened?

thats the only reason that bastard michael atkinson refuses a R18 rating.
because hes seat is surrounded by hardcore religious A$$ holes, he knows if R18 comes in he is out.
thats why hes so opposed to a R18 rating.
its funny, my boss told me 3 years ago that religion is the work of the devil and i thought he was crazy.
now after thinking about it for a while hes right, look at the crusades, hell whats going on know with the US and them.
religion is the work of the devil, remove religion and we would live in a world of peace.

And just be thankful it wasn't some kind of crazy person who thinks he is Mario and is looking for Princess Peach in the dangerous hospital located deep within Mushroom Kingdom.
Or be thankful that it wasn't some crazy guy who is looking for the hospitals basement while yelling at the top of his lungs "All your base are belong to us!"
This was an April Fools joke, right?
Before you tell me "Hey dude, it's not April." It just very well might be April in another dimension of another universe in a weird dirty mirror located in our dimension. (Huh?)
And who knows? Maybe some mystical invincible invisible force from above told him to do this to save a very important life such as a little kid who was going to die on the high tech super machines that most modern-day hospitals use?
The machine may have misread the data that it was receiving from the little kid, which would have killed him if the power didn't go out and a nurse didn't notice that he was about to have a heart attack, which the machine would never have known because the machine was malfunctioning.
You never know, real life is extremely strange.

The world is perfect, it's round, so is entertainment.
Stop video game production for good and we'll be seeing the end of the world even before 2012 comes.
Time for more anti-game activist and we say BRING IT ON!!!
