FFXIV Beta Codes In Japanese Copies Of FFXIII
When we heard about Final Fantasy XIV earlier this year, we idly wondered if the game would actually be on store shelves in the US about the same time as Final Fantasy XIII.
After all, FFXIII had a June 21, 2010 release according to GameStop (although we still believe it'll launch sooner), and FFXIV was simply said to have a "TBA 2010" estimated release. Well, a lot of that is still up in the air, especially as far as North America is concerned, but we do know one thing: according to leaked scans from the latest edition of Jump magazine, we learn that beta codes for FFXIV will be included in Japanese versions of FFXIII. The latter releases in mid-December in Japan, which makes us believe the beta will kick off not much later and further makes us wonder if multiple regions will participate in the test. Being the MMO that it is, Square-Enix would be wise to allow as many people as possible into this upcoming beta; we won't have the benefit of FFXIII's availability, but maybe there are other ways we could get into the testing...?
Oh, and those scans also show Hope's summon, Alexander. Fans of the franchise will certainly remember him; he has been a fixture in the series for quite a while.

Will the Japanese release have any English in it at all, perhaps lending to the ease of an importation or do I have to suck it up and wait?

Hence, as much as I want to see FF14 in graphics category, I dont know if there is anything else can attract me for this game or for the entire MMRPG genre. I will keep my eyes on it

The word is it is designed less with leveling in mind than in following a story progression and most the exp is through questing.
It seems like they are really breaking their backs to marry the best parts of online gaming (the ability to play with others) with the best parts of single player titles (story driven play).
Also with an eye to facilitating solo play (although they have made a lot of changes in the last year to make soloing viable, FFXI, especially when it started, was murder without a party)
