Start Using Netflix On Your PS3 Today
It was previously announced that Netflix would be coming to the PlayStation 3, and if you signed up to get your streaming video content, you should be ready to go this weekend.
PS3 owners who wish to access the vast Netflix inventory of movies and TV shows need a special installation disc to make everything work properly (it has to do with the Blu-Ray technology in the system). Well, these discs have already been sent out to subscribers; some of you should be seeing them today, while others likely will have it no later than Monday. Once you're in possession of this disc, you can feel free to access your Netflix account through the PS3 and begin picking and choosing what you plan to watch this weekend. Remember, if you were already a subscriber, this service comes at no extra charge so there's really no reason not to take advantage. The PS3 joins the Xbox 360, TiVo DVRs, a few standalone BD players and the PC as the platforms consumers may use to download streaming video; no more checking the mailbox for those discs, hoping they're not damaged, hoping they didn't send you the wrong one, and having to drop it back in the mailbox after viewing. Nah, that's old-fashioned stuff.
One interesting statistic: Netflix claims that nearly half of their subscribers have utilized some sort of streaming service within the past three months. That's...um...a lot. This will more than likely catch on, no?

For me, Netflix streaming was the only advantage my 360 had over my PS3, I'm gonna order the disc asap.

i remember reading a article off IGN just after E3 on M$s instant 1080P on and they said a normal full HD movie like the dark night would take roughly 6GBs.
that cant be right, 6 frigging Gbs?
bloody doom 3 or FEAR or FEAR 2 are less than that and there full fledged bloody games!
i want to use the video store when it eventually gets here (in 20 years time) but if thats how much bandwidth its going to take, well sony dont bother.
no one has 6GBs to waste on 1 movie.

Have a 12GB per month limit.
Am lucky to download 3 shows a week.
I hate that Australians are left to bite the dust. Internet is so expensive and so primitive, especially if you compare it to Korea, Australia looks primitive with our simple broadband and wifi with 12 GB per month usage starting at 60 bucks a month.
I wish we had better internet, then I could jump on netflix and ditch the ol' Foxtel cable box.

and what the hell is going on?
the ps2 version looks better than the GOW collection.
watching it in full res theres more details and such, the lines are smoother on the collection.
BUT the collection looks so washed out.
like the PS2 versions are created with 1 part paint 1 part water, where the collection is 1 part paint to 50 parts water.
the collection looks crap in comparison, i hope these are old otherwise im going to be really disappointed!
