EA: Bad Company 2 A Definite "Rival" To Modern Warfare 2
You know, if you're currently standing in line outside your local GameStop that will be celebrating the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with midnight festivities, you should realize that another top-notch FPS will drop next year.
And if EA CEO John Riccitiello's prediction comes true, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 could rival Infinity Ward's massively anticipated shooter. The original Battlefield was a solid and nicely accomplished FPS and developer DICE has already said to expect a bigger and better sequel. Although the entire world seems to be MW2-crazy right now, EA wants to remind everyone that somewhere, lurking in the background shadows, they've got a project that might just surprise you with its bad-ass-ness. According to PS3Center citing a Q2 conference call with Riccitiello, the EA boss said- "I think [Bad Company 2] has every right to see itself as a rival to the number one FPS game that one of one of our competitors is releasing next week." Ironically, there was a time back in 2007 when PS3 owners were really down on EA (for a variety of reasons) but now, Activision is in the doghouse and EA has really produced some stellar titles this generation.
In addition to Battlefield: Bad Company, we've also seen Mirror's Edge and Dead Space, so we have every confidence that BC2 is gonna be awesome. Also, let's not forget that the beta kicks off on November 19 and that test will be exclusive to the PS3. Betcha don't hate EA much now, do ya?

Fortunately, EA stood up to all the hate it put up with, and became the person it was meant to become. Or, at the very least, a better person :)

please its driving me insane, every singe time i turn on my comp and hop on the net theres another article about EA talking about BFBC2 and how its better than MW2.
ok we get it, you dont have to tell me 1 million times for me to understand and remember it.
as i have said many times if your game is good, great, let your game speak for yourself.
running your mouth off like a freaking 10 year old on red cordial just turns me off your game.
like turn 10 and forza 3, i was going to get that but dans fat mouth put me off it.
please EA dont do the same with this, im really looking forward to it.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 event marks the beginning of a new type of regularly occurring event in PlayStation Home – the “Featured Game” party. Every day one of the latest and greatest PlayStation 3 games (that have an online multiplayer component, of course) will be showcased in PlayStation Home. Official host accounts (manned by the Home Community Management team, the Home Community Volunteer team, and – when available – game developers and other celebrity players) will gather in Central Plaza between the hours of 6:00pm and 10:00pm PT (9:00pm and 1:00am EST). A list of host accounts will be placed on the screens at the Listen@Home kiosk in Central Plaza as well as on the official PlayStation Home Clubs and Events forum."

In Bad Company, I felt like I contributed more to the team with the roles that I played. I would often swap between a sniper and a medic, with the occasional demolitions every once in a while.
Plus, I like a little bit more objective in my multiplayer. It's amazing how only two game modes can take up hundreds of hours of play time. I do hope that they make the team chat a lot better than with the first one. Same with the squad option. I hated pretty much going solo all the time.
Simply put, I can't wait for this game!

Problem for me is I didn't like the demo for BFBC. While destructible cover is nice I'd like to have some cover. I tolerate two weapon systems but I despise them. Especially if it's done for so called realism but then I have to drop one of my guns to pick up a tool that magically fixes a truck. Nor do I like having to pick up a whole other gun for ammo instead of just getting ammo. And while I don't mind an extra path or two to go I'm not fond of aimless open world games.
So i'm really going to need to play a demo first.
