Gyllenhaal On Prince Of Persia Movie: "Real Classic Story"
We all have our reservations when it comes to films based on video games, and for damn good reason. But the more we see and hear about Jerry Bruckheimer's adaptation of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the more convinced we are that it'll be well worth the price of admission.
Early trailers have been promising and now, star Jake Gyllenhaal speaks out about the movie's script, and why it's so "intriguing" for him. During an interview with Moviefone UK, Gyllenhaal and costar Gemma Arterton talk about the process of making this epic blockbuster. With 14 different stages and 120 people working around the clock to make everything just right, "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" is shaping up quite nicely. Toss in one of our favorite actors - Ben Kingsley - and you've got one hell of a cast to go along with what Gyllenhaal says is a great story:
"It wasn't like your normal video game adaptation. It was this massive epic that they had in the works; this real classic story that was emotional and real and filled with just ridiculous turns and twists. And that's what makes it intriguing to me."
Well, we could play the hardcore gamer card and point out that many video games have storylines like the one Jake describes here; movie directors just have to bring that out on the big screen. For instance, they can't very well fall short in the "emotional and real" aspects of the "Metal Gear Solid" movie, now can they? But anyway, we are indeed hoping that "Prince of Persia" turns out to be a fun, well-done film that is more of a tribute to the fans...rather than the typical disappointment.

for some reason im not enjoying movies any where near as much as i use too.
the dark night was the last one i really enjoyed, went to see 2012 last night and fell asleep.
i mean yes its Hollywood but CAN IT GET ANY MORE PREDICTABLE?
i mean every single scene you can pick exactly whats going to happen, you know the ending half way through the bloody movie.
maybe thats why im not enjoying them anymore, there just far to predictable.

Also, why Jake Gyllenhaal? Since when has his name rang any bells? He and his sister both are sub par.
