Infinity Ward Considering MW2 Spin-Off Featuring Ghost?
When a game gets this big, there's one term that quickly springs to life: "spin-off." Maybe we should point you in the direction of DJ Hero and Band Hero...
By now, those of you who have been playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are quite familiar with the character "Ghost," although you might not know he's voiced by Craig Fairbrass. That's an important name, because he's the guy who let it slip that Infinity Ward is actually considering an MW2 spin-off featuring Ghost. According to That VideoGame Blog, Fairbrass said as much at the massive sequel's launch event in the UK:
"I did in the last game a voice for a character called Gaz and in this game I’m now voicing a guy called Ghost, who now just got a spin-off comic of his own and they’re talking about another little game to go with it, so I’m quite excited about it. It’s grown and grown and grown."
He was also asked why Ghost has become such a popular character and Fairbrass replied, "I don't know. It's the whole thign I suppose of not knowing who he is. He's like the head of the SAS...I'm just so thrilled to be a part of it; I mean it just gets bigger and bigger each year." Well, provided Infinity Ward is at the helm, we figure a spin-off game featuring Ghost could be fairly kick-ass but who knows? Perhaps it's best to issue a downloadable title of some kind, but that would certainly gimp the quality Modern Warfare fans are used to, right? We'll have to keep an eye on this.

slight spoiler?~~ at the scene where he's carrying roach and stuff and how he acted, he just seemed totally badass ~~end spoiler
But I dunno, a spin-off seems just like milking it even more than before (omg wha? activision milking a game =O le gasp)
Call of duty has definitely become the new halo, it's even got a comic of Ghost coming soon! Modern Warfare 2: Ghost, perhaps in collaboration with this spin-off game?

well Ghost was great, and milking it isnt a bad idea for them, but i dont know if a lot of people knew Ghost well enough, you know what i mean? He made his mark in my eyes but considering the games length and the (***SPOILER***) tragedy that happens, i dont know if he left a memory for a lot of others. we'll have to see what happens!

Just look at the detail of the british/american flags on their shoulders, the body armors, the grenades and all sorts of gadgets strapped around them. Your able to tell the difference between, leather, cotton, nylon or any other clothing material. The graphics are good, nothing WASHED OUT here.
And COD4 let alone MW2 has never been placed in that Gears-y, Fallout-y or Killzone-y infamous next-gen graphics category, the colors are pretty much balanced. Oh, and the guns sound a lot different too, they don't sound the same. I can tell your not really taking the time to get into the game, you just rushed through isn't it?

I admit, I don't dislike the game as much as I thought i would, but i really don't like bad colors. Lol KZ2 even has more vibrant colors then MW2. KZ is dark and dreary but the colors is does have are more vibrant. Like a brand new pair of jeans. I think bigrailer is right though. ND Is on top of their game, has always done great color work and it's something i have to accept. Haha it's a bummer though because it doesn't have to be his way. And I think that's what ND is thinking. That maybe why they are offering help to other devs.
And Karosso, I do agree that MW2's colors are very monochrome and don't look as good as U2. In many ways it fails to compare but i think there's a lot in MW2 that's done better then gears. Gears is not the graphical achievement everyone thinks it is. That game gets waaaay too much praise. Uncharted DF was better then both gears. And even MW1 in some ways.

Karosso what have you been SNIFFING to think Gears looks better than MW2. Gears, with its gritty, grainy, unreal engine, one-way pallette graphics, and oh don't think I don't own it, I have Gears 2 and I enjoyed it, but please don't compare it to any of these new games.

I didn't know Gears was an Unreal game. I despise the Unreal engine. Batman AA was good only because it's a good game to play and it's Batman. Would have been a better looking game had they not used the Unreal engine.
Gosh, no wonder I never understood the praise gears gets. The graphics are so ugly and the texture load in is horrible. I played gears before I new what Unreal was, no wonder is looks like dooky. I recently played some Hoards with my friend who thinks Gears is better looking then Uncharted 2(yea that friend)I just cried inside because of how blind he must be.

Lol jus noticed it's hardley a MS exclusive. There's a Mac version too. How they manage to do that? Gates doesn't even let his kids have Apple products.

but in defense of www, MW2 shows great differences in the character(s), guns, etc. outside of that ok maybe not the best but it isnt terrible.
the way the grenades, and straps, even badges, and armor is rendered on the clothing and actually looks seperate is second to none in MW2. i have to be honest Drakes little gun holder that straps around his back looked like part of his shirt alot of the time. same in resistance 1 and 2 not that they are huge graphics powerhouses but they are nice to look at, the armor and clothing, and pouches and belts all that stuff looked blended in together. not in MW2 everything looks and moves seperately. the grenades dangle from belt loops, the clothing wrinkles with movement, and all the guns have huge amounts of detail. IW did a better job that given credit, and i think its because its a FPS. Becuase you cant technically see your character you dont judge on these types of appearances right off the bat as a main concern.
anyways im done ranting. every game has technicalities, and although uncharted 2 had slim pickens and MW2 has a few more to grip about, it still looks like a next gen game! i think we're all just a little spoiled by KZ2 and Uncharted 2! but thats not a bad thing either!

Eurogamer did their usual ps3 xbox comparison and even they notice the default settings on both versions were not ideal for the best color and brightness. Google it. It's pretty interesting.

thats not such a bad thing.
i get the feeling MW2 could of been something really spectacular, theres heart racing bits but there too far between.
like the snow level is brilliant, i love the levels were you can go in silently instead of alerting the whole world your there.
the chases are allot of fun.
it just feels like they had so many ideas and things to do, but for some reason they couldent.
maybe it was because of time?
whatever it was, it would be nice to see that, or the restrictions removed and let IW let their hair down and go all out.

i think IW went the other way with it. they made another great MP experience but the single player although great in my eyes coulda been more! it did have some heart pumping moments though!

Then now they're considering a spinoff.
There's a comic for Ghost.
MW2 is the fastest selling game and it's making tons of money and BK is taking advantage of that.
What's next?
Your guess is as good as mine.
Now that this franchise is expanding rapidly, maybe I should consider becoming a CoD fan.........not gonna miss out on something this big.

my point is if i recall infinity ward isnt doing a modern warfare 3 anytime soon in fact i think they will stop the whole IW one year Treyarch the next making COD games. anyways this is more activisions fault, not COD. COD has always been a great franchise!
and i also gotta defend Ghost here, he's the man!

The next brand-new new spin-off will probably be.....
C.O.D."Military Band-Hero of Brothers",
(the Jonus Brothers toot the horns in a Fort Dix marching band setting).
"Bayonets ready....Er....I mean..... Piccolo's & flute's at the ready"!
(dripping sarcasm abounds)

Probably not but there should be some awesome locales, I really like how MW2 expanded its locations; maybe Ghost could go to Hawaii or New York or even Venice and pull an Ezio by sneaking out of the water!
