Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days Will Make You Cringe In 2010
The original Kane & Lynch: Dead Men was somewhat entertaining but riddled with plenty of issues, so we're hoping Eidos will deliver something decidedly better when the sequel is released next year.
It has been announced that Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days will arrive some time next year for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. This confirmation comes straight from Square-Enix Europe but as a reminder, the game will ship with the Eidos brand name and IO Interactive is at the helm once again and this time around, they're using a little shock value to help titillate the consumer. They're not only calling this sequel "a new visual experience inspired by documentary filmmakers and the user-generated era," but we've also seen some truly questionable video content already. For more, check out the two viral videos, which are both disturbing in their own ways. It seems much of the story will be told via security cameras and what is seen on those cameras is enough to make most people cringe. Obviously, Dead Men wasn't nearly controversial enough to make the splash they desired...oh wait, no, it wasn't that; it was that the game itself wasn't very good. That's what it was.
Well, anyway, it'll certainly be interesting to see how Dog Days turns out. You can make it as insane as you like but if the gameplay still falters, you won't sell many copies. Such is the way of the gaming world.

I would play through Uncharted 2 again, rather than play this game. I suppose I am needlessly degrading a game that hasn't even came out yet, but from the sounds of it, the first one wasn't very good, I just don't see the point for a second. It is competing with too many good games out there for gamers playing time.

Fast forward 2 or so years later and make a sequel to that game with sodomy, naked characters, and as much shock value as you can cram into it and hope that the failings of the original are forgotten by enough people that you can turn a profit on a game franchise that has a rocky history at best.
I am smelling something fishy here. Sorry, but I will take a pass on this one unless a reliable source (Ben or Arnold) can compel me otherwise to spend my money on this one.

Anyway this will be the second time I am with Ultima on a subject, the documentary sh*t is SOOOO played out.
I don't think the first K&L was nearly as bad as people say, (some parts were really satisfying) but yeah it had some problems and I never finished it because of those problems.

God those videos were terrible. If this game only makes you cringe when playing it, then its not a good game.
And I completely agree with all you out there.
1. There's already enough AAA games to keep us busy for... well, ever!!! Specially on PS3.
2. Documentary videos and reality styled TV and films have been done to death. Please, oh please, move on.
3. The first Kane and Lynch was okay, I really don't see why it needed a sequel, let alone a sequel aimed to only shock players.
4. Which brings me to my final point, games that aim to shock with brutal violence usually don't fair well, especially if its the core gameplay and story thats shocking and terrible. One scene like from Modern Warfare 2 might be okay for story purposes, but a whole game? Manhunt 2 is proof that shock value doesn't mean higher sales.

WTF does a naked man running through a chinese shop have to do with this?
i swear to god advertisements are getting weirder and weirder as the days go on.
like sonys latest add for bravia tvs is a bunch of colorful bunnies jumping around.
or the new nestle chocolate add is a purple car in a drag race.
WTF does a drag race have to do with chocolate?
its official, advertisers seriously need to lay off the acid!
