GameStop Black Friday Deals Include Console Bundles

You know, some of you shoppers are just plain crazy. Getting up at 4 a.m. in the cold so you can drive to the stores and battle mobs of equally insane people? Where does that get fun?

Well, it's just another one of those things that still exist and remains popular despite the fact that I will never understand it. And if you're planning on hitting the stores super early on Black Friday - which is next week, by the way - you might want to stop in at GameStop. According to a bunch of special ads collected by Kotaku, there are several great deals that might catch your attention. First up are the bundle deals; you can grab a PlayStation 3 with LittleBigPlanet and the God of War Collection for only $299 (essentially, the games are free) or an Xbox 360 with LEGO Batman, Pure, and your choice of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare or Spider-Man: Web of Shadows for the same price. You can also snag certain awesome games for only $39.99 - Batman: Arkham Asylum and Call of Duty: World at War are two such titles - and Grand Theft Auto IV is all the way down to $20. There are also plenty of deals for the Wii and handhelds so if you've got the necessary motivation, you'll definitely want to take advantage of these very brief sales.

Yeah, you gotta get up early and it's usually raining (or snowing) or something, but maybe that's all part of the fun. Maybe that's what I'm missing...I dunno.

I have had to work on black Friday but luckily I didn't have to deal directly with the customers. Trying to find a parking spot always sucked but being busy made the day go by quickly. Those are some good deals though, thanks John.

Isn't God of War and God of War II on one blue ray? The ad makes it look like you are getting three separate game packages, when one is a two for price of one game. I dunno, seems a little misleading.

this actually sounds like a great deal. I need another ps3 by February as I'm moving temporarily to another city. This could be a nice deal but who knows what kind of ps3 will be available in 1st quarter 2010..

my only problem with those 2 games is that theres no replayability after you beat the game. other than that they can hang with the best of the best.

Some women use Black Friday as their once-a-year adrenaline rush. Others just go for those crazy discounts.

I still don't think it's worth though. I mean, there are safer ways to get your adrenaline fix. Like skydiving.

dam i wish i waited on getting my psp.
im really pissed off with EB i took in my 360 and got 99 bucks for it.
WTF!
99 bucks for a 4 month old in perfect condition 360 pro, something they charge 400 bucks for.
i seriously cant believe that 99 BUCKS! NINETY FU**ING NINE BUCKS!
anyway i had to buy the normal system with no game bundled and that cost me 400 bucks, but if i waited till the end of the month EB is having a sale where they mark 20 bucks off the price and give you 2 games of your choice.
now they tell me!
i really want to get assassins creed bloodlines and little big planet but there both 70 bucks each.

EBgames is screwing you, I would order games online before I let them do that to me. No wonder you spent $5,000 in games.

Also, I work at EB Games. Just so you know, there is a flat trade value for each product, regardless of what condition it is in. However, we recently introduced a small surcharge for scratched games that go off to be fixed and recovered.

I know, the trade value thing is pretty shabby at times, but don't forget, we are a business who offer products or services to make a profit like other businesses. Plus, the newer the thing you trade in, the more you get for it. That's in terms of product release, not when you bought it.

1 more thing. What model 360 did you trade? only the elites are worth anything these days, since the 60GB ones are being phased out and have higher chance of breaking down. PS3's are still going strong, and many 360 owners come into the store, realising that Uncharted 2 is PS3 exclusive AND realising that online play can be done for free.

Also, as an employee at EB, even we don't know about console sales and bundles until the day they are introduced. Only the office heads know in advance, we just roll with what's on the banners in the store, and that is the god honest truth.

If you were planning on trading a console towards another console with a super cool deal, wait until either Christmas or Mid-Year sales, or wait til you see it advertised in the store and come in the next day. That's your best bet.

So, yeah, you got barely anything for your 360 cos it is exactly that, an Xbox 360, a preowned one at that which more people trade and less people buy, hence the low trade value. Doesn't matter if it was built in 07, 08 or 09, but the 05 and 06 models are traded as broken no matter what good condition its in. And if you have a problem with that, blame Microsoft and their shoddy hardware, not EB.

yea i live in australia.
and yes EB are completley ripping me off like theres no tomorrow the only reason i go there is
1 the checkout chick is really hot and im trying to pick her up.
2 buy any game, dont like it?
bring it back within 7 days for full refund.
no other retailer will do that.
but that does not stop EB from selling them for 300 bucks if i remember right.
100 bucks for a 360 pro 60GB is INSANE!
could of sold it on ebay and got triple that.
not to mention i only got 30 bucks for GTAIV TBOGT which is what 2 weeks old?
EB are lucky they have the 7 day money back guarantee otherwise i would never shop their again.
anyway most of them are not for sales, they use them as referb units.

hey john, the picture for the 360 game add in isnt spiderman, its bakugan. I dont know how kotaku missed it. It looks nothing like the spiderman box art at all.

I did it once... just once... I grabbed an mp3 player with every intention to paying for it when to guys start arguing over a sony vaio... cops barged in faster then I could see... I was pushed off the line and the group on the line was forced out of the store... half the group was arrested... the two men had beaten eachother to a pulp and me, I was seperated from my family T^T

I lost my sister, my mother, and my dog mittens... all for an mp3 player?

WHEN WILL THE MADNESS END?

@therabbitkinge: hahahaha that is hilarious. I would actually love to see what Black Friday is. So if I ever come over to the U.S I would definitely make sure to be there over that period just to see... I won't shop I'll just find a high spot somewhere with a video cam and record away....

And to actually see snow will be a bonus. Seeing I live in Africa, snow is just a myth to me.

Anyway just looking at the specials I can't see how people (anyone for that matter) still chooses the Xbox over the PS3... I mean just look at the special... How can anyone that doesn't own one of the two go for the 360 over the PS3??? I mean really... Unless they do it for COD4 which is stupid anyway seeing it's 2 years old...

Snow is pretty cool, but if you want to get a feel for it, just build up some ice in your freezer and chip away at it til you have a handful. That, my good sir, is snow in your hand. No difference.

And trust me, cold snowy weather is overrated. Been there, done that. Give me a hot sunny Aussie Christmas in summer at the beach any day!

i live in the chicago land area where we can get all the seasons in one day not even a joke.

on my bday in '07 i think it was we had a blizzard for 22 hours and we got like 18 inches of snow. one day at the end of april one year we got a blizzard.

snow really sucks and if you live somewhere you dont have to deal with it be happy. it generally just makes life miserable around here no one knows how to drive in it. i drive a mustang which is rear wheel drive, worst thing ever in the snow but i can at least drive.

ive seen it like 70 in the day time and snow at night in a 24 hour period.

Bargains are good and all, but to fight people over it is just stupid.

That's why we have stocktake sales, christmas sales and mid year sales. Cheaper games, cheaper goods over 4 week long periods.
