What Is Zipper Interactive's Mystery PS3 Project?
MAG is currently in its fourth beta testing stage (if you want in, just pre-order the hotly anticipated MMOFPS at GameStop) and we're all anxiously awaiting the game's final release on January 25.
However, we're also interested to learn more about the other PlayStation 3 game Zipper Interactive apparently has in the hopper. As pointed out by PS3Center, LinkedIn profiles for a few Zipper employees hint at this mysterious unannounced title: there's a senior software engineer who says he's currently in the process of "developing gameplay for two PS3 games" and Graham Kay, who used to be a design manager at the studio, says he worked on a "Massive Action Game (PS3) & Unannounced project (PS3)." That should be proof enough for now but the real question is, what the heck are they preparing outside of MAG? We almost think it might be a smaller downloadable title or something, simply because it doesn't seem like Zipper has the manpower to work on both MAG - an insanely ambitious project to begin with - and some other blockbuster PS3 title at the same time. However, the big rumor is that it's SOCOM 4, which is a definite possibility and good news for fans of the franchise.
By the way, you should definitely test out the MAG beta if you have the chance. It's one of those games that requires a great deal of attention and patience but once you accept that fact and settle down to the task at hand, you'll see just how special this game could be...
