Red Dead Redemption Rides Onto Shelves This April
One would think the gaming industry would've enjoyed some "AAA" Western-based FPSs, but it has yet to happen. This is why we're all hoping that Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption puts the cowboy in the limelight for once.
Many have been anticipating this game for quite some time, and we know the developers have been putting a great deal of time and effort into RDR. Up until now, we weren't sure of its expected release date but according to VideoGamer, the game is now scheduled to arrive some time in April. This comes along with the announcement of a new trailer, "My Name is John Marston," which will hit the web on Tuesday, December 1. We have high hopes for Redemption and it's a good plan to stick it into April, as March is so overloaded with blockbusters and promising titles, we're certain Rockstar's project would get overshadowed. But we have no idea what we might see in April - besides Gran Turismo 5 in North America, possibly - so perhaps RDR will flourish there. Of course, they'll need to have produced a good game for any "flourishing" to take place, but based on what we've seen so far, things are definitely looking up. We can't wait to check out that video next week; it should be most revealing.
And by the way, although Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood isn't really an elite title, it's still a solid and entertaining shooter, and a good deal better than the original game. That might tide you over until April, if you're in need of some old-fashioned Western action.

Not that it matters much of course... I'm optimistic and expect Red Dead to be *the* cowboy experience this gen!

If anything I really do hope Capcom revisit the western concept as their haven't a good western/arcade-style western since Sunset Riders and Wild Guns.

and the western genre doesn't have anything really worth your time... it's a shame considering how many great western movies there are...
