Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands Coming In May
Prince of Persia was one of our favorite games of 2008 and now, almost exactly one year after its release, Ubisoft has revealed that a new installment is in the works.
This according to El33tonline, and it comes as great news to all fans of the franchise. Last week, we heard Ubisoft had a mystery game to announce and personally, I was hoping it would be a new PoP...thankfully, it appears that wish has come true. The next entry will be called Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and should be available in May of 2010 for most all platforms. We have no details besides the following- "many of the fan-favorite elements from the original series as well as new gameplay innovations that gamers have come to expect from the Prince of Persia brand." Will it remain cel-shaded? Will it be a direct sequel featuring Elika? Will it utilize the same excellent co-op elements? We have no idea just yet but if the title is set for May, they must be well into development and we should start seeing new media and info very soon. This release should also coincide with the theatrical launch of Jerry Bruckheimer's "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" film featuring Jake Gyllenhaal. It looks decent.
But we're most excited about this new game. In terms of artistry and outstanding platforming, few titles can compete with this series over the past six of seven years.

After healing the lands, I expected to see people and animals like any other game out there, apart from the Prince & Elika, the world felt like Mars, NO LIFE! Made me yawn all day.

yea there made by the same developer but there 2 different games.
might as well compare MW2 to AC2.
PoP is a fast paced game, its linear as they can come and the combat is fast.
AC2 is a slower paced game, open world, and combat is as slow as a snails pace.
i hate it that almost every attack you make gets blocked.
the only way to take out guards in AC is to counter, dodge than attack but than you only get 1 hit so you have to repeat that a few times.
or through a smoke bomb.
its much, much, much, much, much slower than PoP and gives you a million and one more choices to how you want to play.
so you cant really compare the two, if your trying to figure out if you will like it or not rent it i guarantee you will like it.
best multiplat title released this year, and there has been allot of good multis like batman AA.

me personally prefer the older more adult style of PoP, the two thrones the one where you had a psychotic evil side was brilliant best of the series.
i still liked the fantasy style of last years title, but i much prefer the good old gritty feel.
i say bring this one as the old style than bring the next one as the fantasy style.
make it like COD series, one old style, one new style, one old style, one new style ect.
this is one series that i really could not care less if its milked, because its allways a better game than the last.
so everyone complaining its being milked and has seen to many sequels can go jump.
i need my platforming fix, and lets be frank, that genre is severely lacking ATM.

- Needs to to have the free-roaming aspect of Assassin's Creed II.
- Modified FIGHTING system of Assassin's Creed II.
- HECK, use the Schmitar engine 2.0 if you have to. Wall running/grinding is okay for me.
- NO more "button-timed" boss fights.
+ Keep the cel-shaded graphics.
+ And Elika
+ And Nolan NORTH.

As for the button-timed boss fights, those are sometimes fun, but seriously, do it like GoW does. Have us press a couple of buttons in sequence when the boss is almost dead or in order to destroy shielding. There was WAY too much button-timing for fighting in general in that game.
