Bayonetta Sexes Up PSN, Call Of Duty Classic Arrives
All PS3 owners know that Sony updates the PlayStation Store every Thursday - or at least, they all should know that - and some weeks are more interesting than others.
This week is especially loaded down with appealing...erm...downloads. Okay, that sentence didn't work but that's only because I'm excited to finally be able to sample Bayonetta; the demo is now available for North American gamers. It has been up on the Japanese Store for quite some time so many of you have already sampled it, but for those of us who haven't had the time and don't have a JPN account, we'll be pouncing now. Furthermore, Call of Duty Classic is now up there for $14.99, you can download the latest Qore episode, and PS1 classics Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and Command & Conquer: Red Alert Retailiation are available for the standard price of $5.99. Oh, and both LittleBigPlanet and Fight Night Round 4 each get a horde of new content, so if you're a fan of either (or both), you'll definitely want to log on and check things out. I suppose you can also try out demos for Fairytale Fights and Guitar Hero: Van Halen but we all have to admit that Bayonetta owns this week.
And all personal feeling aside, I point you in the direction of EDGE's 10 out of 10 review for Bayonetta, where they say the game "slaps Dante, Kratos and every other hero back to the drawing board." ...if it wasn't for such a bold statement, I'd never point you in their direction but whatever. Look for Ben's hands-on preview of the demo in question, which should show up soon.

As good as Bayonetta is, it is just a reskinned Devil May Cry... probably containing all of Kamiya's ideas for what he would have done for DMC 4 if he were still at Capcom.

It's surprisingly slick and full of creativity, i always wonder why the most imaginative games seem to only come out of Japan.
It's mega OTT and Beyonetta is one bad mamma if not an absolute mental....that taunt button is hilarious.
Definitely better than DMC but, still near enough the same.
Still not interested and don't agree with the praise (at least from the demo, graphics and camera alone bring it down) but, i don't mind it in the industry at all, infact i would welcome it.
Just thought i'd say how it surprised me.

As World said, it just so happens Japan turns out a lot of creativity and it hasn't gone away. We just don't see em as often due to publishers looking for money, not quality.
I mean, no Demon's Souls in Europe....wtf?
I hate to say it but, our homelands are not winning, they're plaguing the industry with repeats and money thoughts. This don't apply to all of course, just some *cough* Activision *cough*.
Im just hoping so much that things turn around and i praise Sony for their belief in the more artistic and the innovative.
I hate the fact i don't buy games as often anymore because of all this. A hardcore gamer shouldn't say that :S

But, name a game like Demon's Souls...you can't. It's incredibly unique and has nothing like it before it. It's what the west should of made! But, instead, the east came and shown us how it's done.
If you can name a game like Demon's Souls...you will probably be naming another eastern one like Kings Field...which ironically is from the same team.

However, while Japanese developers show more creativity when it comes to storytelling and art design, they show almost no creativity when it comes to gameplay, at least lately. Most of those teams have been making the same game (with meaningless gimmicky changes) for the last decade or more.
Meanwhile Western developers are trying to advance the medium.
Exceptions include Team ICO and (thanks to Ryan Payton) Kojima Productions.

The demo was fun and when i finished it yeah i said to myself "that was actually fun" meaning it was beter than i thought. But is it GOW worthy i think not, maybe devil may cry since they both have guns ;). the game will most likely be good and probably worth the money the demo proved that. I just dont like looking at a bunch of flashy colors and balls of blur when im attacking lol. minor concern.

about the reviewers I think they must be otaku for prefer Bayonetta over Kratos because the game its like some kind of manga.
I personally don't like the character and her attacks I find them ridiculous some of the finishing move she do are actually pretty fun but cheesy .
offtopic: Bayo and her old fatass can go to fucking hell Sega just give me Yakuza 3 NOW!!

And ya know what? I found it to be pretty damned good and it kept me totally amused.
The only annoying fault I could find was trying to keep adjusting the camera to where I wanted or needed it(I'm guessing it's due to all the fast-paced action, but I sure hope they can correct it)
I especially like conjuring up her Hair-Wolf demon to chomp down on the enemy like it was filet minion being offered up to a overeaters convention in a 50 cent buffet line.
and not to mention seeing lots of bare, and extremely curvaceous, Bayonetta butt-cheek heiny
