Schafer: More DLC, "Tuning Patches" For Brutal Legend
Tim Schafer's latest project sold better than past efforts, and that's due to heavy marketing and of course, yet another game that's both original and extraordinarily well done.
However, that doesn't mean the game was devoid of flaws. In this day and age, we always have the option of making an experience better with the help of extra downloadable content and patches. This is why Schafer has confirmed that both will be incoming for Brutal Legend at some point in the near future; in speaking with GamePro, the designer said, "We definitely want to do more DLC for both single-player and multiplayer, as well as some tuning patches." Now, we're quite familiar with the concept of DLC by this time but what in the game might need to be tweaked? You may have your own ideas, but Schafer believes the balance in the game may be a bit off:
"Watching people play Brutal Legend makes it seem that certain units might be overpowered, like some players will just spam Fire Barons. It's tough to avoid the pendulum effect where you go back and forth, so we try to focus on one fix that will make the game more fun."
Perhaps you will agree with this assessment if you play Brutal Legend a lot online, or if you've simply noticed this imbalance when working your way through the single-player campaign. For my part, while I adored the concept, I've always hated any RTS-like play, which is why I was ultimately forced to put this one down. At the same time, it was clear that Schafer had managed to do it again and to hear that add-ons and fixes are on the way will only make the fans happier. Stay tuned for more info.

i really enjoyed playing the game, till i got to the castle part where you first have to fight those towers which shoot flaming arrows at you.
thats where they first introduced the heavy RTS element, and destroyed the whole game for me.
shame.
developers are pros at doing this these days.
create a perfect game and add something small to completley destroy it.
ubisoft montreal have always done it with the PoP series, than with assassins creed 1,2.
than GOW with the unnecessary 1 million death traps and battle sequences that last far too long.
i think they just get carried away, and get lost with what there actually doing they need to step back and look at everything as a whole.
speaking of GOW i FINALLY! finished it last night and watched the making of videos and deleted levels.
that was so much fun and interesting, i wish every single game had videos like them.
never have i had a interest in watching a guy sitting there talking to you so much.
and the deleted levels, WTF?
they removed the best parts, the moving elevator was SO COOL! so was the flying room.
only if david was there for GOW3 :(
and it sorta tells you where the series is going after GOW3.
50 bucks says kratos dies in GOW 3 and the series goes back to his brother, getting revenge.
thats what i thinks going to happen, watching that video and how kratos and his brother were split up and now katos brother hates him and wants revenge.
they probably could slip it in as a prequel to GOW.
