Last Rebellion Enters 2010 RPG Fray
It was a fairly dry year for RPGs but with the role-playing lineup scheduled for 2010, fans of the genre should be overloaded with potential goodness.
We've already got White Knight Chronicles, Final Fantasy XIII, Resonance of Fate and Star Ocean: The Last Hope International coming to the PlayStation 3 and now, we can add another exclusive RPG for Q1 2010: Last Rebellion. According to PlayStation LifeStyle, NIS America has just given the game an estimated February 2010 launch date in North America. You'll be looking at a unique combat mechanic that lets you control two main characters and slash at various parts of an enemy's body, plus a mature storyline with presumably older characters (NIS is often known for the "kiddie"-like RPGs, with teenagers and kids as characters). The interesting part about this is February for the US is only about a month after it releases in Japan...how the localization process goes so quickly for these guys and so much slower for other studios is a mystery. White Knight Chronicles has been out for how long in Japan? Well, long enough to know Level 5 is already planning a sequel. Of course, this only means yet another RPG will have to be taken into consideration early next year, so RPG followers will have their hands full.
Maybe NIS will give us a demo on the PSN some time in January. We'd like to get a better idea of how this one is going to play.

Is Last Rebellion worth a purchase? Resonance of Fate is definite purchase for me. i like the older RPG characters rather than the 10 year olds. The resemblence of the name Last Rebellion reminds me of "the Last Remnant" which is keeping me from looking into this game.

-They gave the new Super Mario a better score (40/40) then Final Fantasy XIII.
-The US/UE version has 50 online co-op missions. In addition to that, voice chat and many other features were added for the new release.
-Don't let one review tell you what to think. Formulate your own opinion and think for yourself.
