Modern Warfare 2 Patched, Multiple Issues Addressed
Although the multiplayer popularity of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is undeniable, the experience hasn't been without its fair share of problems across all three platforms.
However, many of these issues should cease once you've downloaded the latest patch, which has now gone live for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It will actually address different problems for each platform; i.e., the annoying infinite ammo and Public "private" issue on the Xbox 360, the Prestige hack on the PS3, and the texture hack on the PC. Furthermore, some fixes apply to all platforms, like the balancing of the 1887, which should now make that weapon a little less godlike. The patch also allows Trophies to be obtained in SP and Spec Ops modes on the PS3 and more multiplayer servers have been added to meet the rising demand...perhaps Infinity Ward underestimated how many PS3 owners would purchase the game. Well, either way, we're certain this is only the start of patches and fixes for MW2 online, which is bound to break all the records set by its predecessor. Every online multiplayer experience can be improved in some way and you can bet that Infinity Ward will continue to keep an eye on things. Besides, they've done their job; responsibilities for the next Call of Duty once again fall to Treyarch, who has also abandoned the WWII setting in favor of a modern environment.
Hopefully, this big patch will have a positive impact and allow you to bypass some of your prior frustrations. But if you've got complaints or suggestions, feel free to tell us about 'em. You never know; IW might hear...
