From All Of Us At PSXE To All Of You: Happy Holidays

It seems almost impossible that yet another year has gone by and yet, here we are again, wishing all our readers a Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas.

I say it every year: we just wouldn't be doing this without you guys and as long as you continue to read, we'll continue to write. We're proud of what we do but perhaps above all else, we're proud of the community we've assembled here at PSXE. We believe we've got one of the most civil, knowledgeable readerships of any gaming site on the 'Net, and you can bet that we continue to value your participation in the Comments and Forums. With your help, the Comments will be an even bigger success than it already is, and we can keep working on forum growth in 2010. But there's one thing you won't have to worry about: the daily updates you've come to expect won't cease, and we'll keep trying to bring you the latest and greatest throughout next year.

2010 is already shaping up to be one hell of a year, too, what with the likes of Final Fantasy XIII, Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo 5, God of War III, MAG, The Last Guardian and more. It's a lot but when new stuff breaks, always check PSXE for the news and media. We might be trying some new things, too (an idea we've tossed around before is a PSXE Podcast; other sites are doing this a lot, I've noticed), and maybe we'll ask you what you'd like to see. So in the end, thanks to all and we hope your holiday season is a memorable one. And in 2010, we'll try to keep getting better.

Oh, and stay tuned for our Game of the Year Awards; they're less than a week away!

Merry Christmas, and a happy new year for sure!

You guys definitely make the days and weeks throughout the year more eventful, having updated news to read on one of my favorite hobbies! I ussually dont join websites, or forums, (although i dont hit the forums often) PSXE somehow drug me in! Despite all the arguments, and disagreements ive been in this year on the comments, there is no other place, with more knowledgable readers (us) and Writers (Ben, Arnold), and no where else can you find a good conversation about games than here! It has become my one stop news site for gaming! Thanks guys!

BTW podcast would be awesome but keep it kind of short, i hate the one and a half hour shows that drag on. maybe 30-45 min and more straight to the point but still having fun with it!

This is the first site I've ever joined. Since, I've joined a few others (like two) but I don't frequent them half as much as I do here.

Though we can disagree sometimes on the site we all act like brothers (and sisters Robochic) and thats the way I see each of you. I really love this site and Most people here really have something to add to the conversations.

Thank you foremost Arnold for this site and keeping it unique. Ben for the consistent stream of interesting articles and John for being so *ahem* Mysterious...

Merry Christmas from Hawaii...

Happy Holidays!
psxe is the best example of what a gaming site should be like

No BS, straight to the ponit, and most importantly, civilized

But it gets better when you have a dedicated staff which looks at v-gaming and at life from so many different angles and perspectives that you're actually EDUCATING YOURSELF BY COMING TO THIS SITE!

This has been one awesome year for games. Gamers really need to take take off those blindfolds and get Uncharted 2. They're literally missing one of the best games ever made thus far.

Anyway, thank you Ben, Arnold, and John, ya'll really appreciate gaming firs and foremost.

Gran Turismo 5 next year!!! Can't wait!

PS: Demon's Souls needs more love, that game is without a doubt a revelation........gaming has never been like this since SNES

Happy Holidays guys! I've never been so engrossed and into a community such as this, as everyone here is a civil and educated gamer (I've learned a good amount from the older guys, that's for sure!).

I look forward to 2010, as it has just as much games I desire as I did 2009. If this year was the year of the PS3, may the next year be the golden age of the PS3.

Well, an 'agnostic' says he/she doesn't believe in a god, or that there is no god, because he/she doesn't know, where as an 'atheist' goes one step further and claims there is no God. So of the two, the agnostic is more intellectually honest. It's like this: if something happens, like, a tree falls and no one is there to see or hear it, an agnostic will say I don't know if it has fallen or not. Atheism amounts to saying, the tree has not fallen because i didn't see it, or it is irrelevant to me, so it has not fallen. The blind believer will say, the tree has fallen because FOX news said so. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

@ Aftab

Your tree example is ridiculous. An atheist would hear your claims of a tree falling and go out and actually conduct a study to see if it's actually true. A person of religion would take your word at face value, and an agnostic would choose one or the other. Religion and the origins of life are VERY RELEVANT to atheists since both play an important role in humanity and the universe.

Next time you attempt to generalize a specific group of people at least make a valid example.

@ Aftab

Being an atheist has nothing to do with a lifetime study. Seriously where do you get these ridiculous viewpoints?

An atheist or any competent person does not have to conduct a study on every religion out there to gain an understanding of what a belief in a higher power is and the faith required to make that belief a factual claim in a person's mind.

An atheist is an open minded person willing to accept any claim as long as there is evidence to support it. Simply believing in a god just because is not a valid reason. Believing in a god because of some book written thousands of years ago by MAN is not a valid reason, especially when that said book fails under scrutiny.

I was raised in a christian family and both my parents are devout christians, hec my father is a christian author in his spare time. So you're completely wrong when you mention "An atheist does not consider the possibility of God's existence before ignoring Him". Atheists quite clearly do consider the existence of god and due to the lack of any evidence they refuse to accept it.

It has nothing to do with god showing himself, any form of evidence would suffice and yet there is not one. It sounds like you're in denial about the FACT that religion is all about FAITH and a HUNCH.

Atheists do not believe religion is to blame for ALL the problems in the world but there is no denying religion has played a huge part in the deaths of million/billions of people. The crusades, dozens of passages in the old testament to name a few.

Oh and your line "greatest trick the devil ever played, was to convince men that he did not exist" is an empty message void of any validity used to take the place of any educated argument you may have.

And for the record, making generalities is exactly what you do, when you say all people of religion take things at face value. And it is exactly what you do, when you reject all religions without knowing them. And even more rediculous is that you imply an atheist says God does not exist, because he has conducted a study. My feeling is, if there is an uncreated creator of it all, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, than it may take more than just a "study" to know him. If you'd ask me, which you won't, He'd probably tell you to study yourself first, and at least keep an open and honest mind.

Millions have been killed because of ideologies, politics, money, land, and so forth. Convenient that people don't reject "oil" because of it. Yet, religion is to blamed, and not men, and religion is the root of all evils? What about Hitler, Stalin, or Powpot?

Limited, do you celebrate Christmas? Or do you simply wish others to celebrate Christmas as a form of good will? Just wondering. I know of a few athiests that celebrate it with family, and just look towards some of the superficial aspects of christmas. Good will towards man and all that.

I celebrate it. My close family is Christian based and I have no problem partaking in many of the traditions that have nothing to do with the birth of Jesus. FYI (although you may already know) many of the Christmas traditions we carry on with (The tree, the music, the gift giving) all predate Christianity. So I have no problem sharing what's become a tradition for multiple beliefs.

I mean come on, who doesn't like presents! :)

Thanks Ben, Arnold, John, everyone else at PSX and all the people in the comments sections for a great year of news and entertainment. 2010 is going to be just as exciting and possibly even bigger than 2009 for our beloved PS3, with all the great game to come, I can't wait!!!

I dont even have that beautiful PSP anymore, the Wi-Fi crapped out on me and I went in to fix it, which I did (loose wire from the Wi-Fi chip to the motherboard) and just grazed the back of the screen with my finger,It went all haywire and crapped out on me, I WAS PISSED! That's my third one I've gone through now, damn my bad luck. Good thing my GF has a pink import 1000 from Japan, she wont let me play it, haha, I wonder why? She has to sleep sometime.

Think so huh, wait till ya reach 57 like me, and finally realize that suddenly life's starting to whiz right by ya, and at 2000MPH too.

And don't believe anyone that tells you that 50 is beginning of your golden years.
The only golden years I've ever seen so far was from a faded 1932 picture inside Fort Knox.

It's more like lead, tin, & aluminum years.

But I gotta say, my adopted family of Playstations DO keep me golden(and young)!

Merry Christmas to all at PSX and have a good New Year's. I joined about 6 months ago after a recommendation from a friend and ever since I have come to this website on a daily basis. The articles are interesting and I always hear news about games on PSX before other gaming related websites (IGN, Gametrailers, Gamespot etc etc) Also one of the best things about this site is that many people see a console/game for what it is (no fanboys). This is something I hate on other sites and even though this is a Playstation site I don't get that feeling of bias. I could "waffle on" forever but anyway as I said above Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

P.S - Better start saving those pennies for the massive lineup of games coming out in 2010, I know I have. I have $450AUD so far which means I can afford 4 new release games and 1 other (games are $100 in Aus.)

You two want to debate this over email? go for it. You want to debate it in the forum? More power to you. But not in the comment section. Everything that included any sort of generalized insults have been delted. Happy Winter to all.

This ain't a hard concept. You want to continue this conversation then start a topic in the forums. But don't start it up again here.

About the poll this week... I don't believe Demon's Souls is under appreciated, it won GOTY at gamespot and many other awards.(MW2 wasn't even one of the 10 nominees :P)

anyways, merry Christmas and a happy new year all.

Thanks everyone.

I just got back; got a ton of stuff, which you'll probably hear about in my Week in Review tomorrow night. :)

I hope everyone had a safe and a happy holiday, and I'm back to work as of now. Just a leisurely kind of work, though; after all, it IS still Christmas. ;)

We actually have a day marked on our lunar calendar for the birth of Christ. It coincides with Abraham's birthday, and the day that Hajr-ul-Aswad was placed on Earth. The day is spent in fasting and prayer, and it happened a couple weeks ago, coincidentally.

Happy holidays and congrats - you've got every reason to be satisfied with how your website has developed so far. When I discovered it sometime this year I felt right at home (... despite the myriads of thumbs-down I've received at times... They are given with luuuv, I convince myself).
