French DJ David Guetta Unofficially Confirms DJ Hero 2
DJ Hero was one of our favorite games of 2009, garnering several music-related Game of the Year Award nominations. Therefore, we're certainly happy to hear about a sequel.
All these "Hero" spin-offs may not survive in the long run, but you can bet that Activision will attempt to keep them all popular for as long as humanly possible. And besides, DJ Hero sold relatively well and a whole lot of people would be annoyed if they only had the opportunity to use that nifty turntable once. Well, it's highly unlikely Activision would pass on a sequel but at least we've got an unofficial confirmation from French DJ David Guetta, as reported by Destructoid. He says he's "going to work on the No. 2 version" of DJ Hero, which isn't too surprising considering he contributed to the original. It seems that just about anything Activision touches in the music realm turns to gold these days, but that doesn't mean all their innovative attempts are successful. Tony Hawk: Ride bombed out big time but we try to look at the positives 'round here, and there's no doubt that we got a big winner with DJ Hero. You may not like stuff like Guitar Hero: Van Halen but you might not say that if they suddenly produced a special GH iteration with your favorite band in the spotlight.
We'll let you know when Activision wants to make this official. Don't be surprised to see DJ Hero 2 slated for a holiday 2010 launch.

Now I'm also very much into house/dance music. I remix and DJ, as a hobby. My family and friends never understood the appeal of the house genre before playing DJ Hero. Now my friends wanna go clubbing with me!
Gaming is all about having fun...and music games are a ton of fun! I'd love to see another DJ Hero. Can't wait to see what DLC is coming soon. Girl Talk DLC would be incredible!

Introducing new audiences to music does not counter my opinion that music games are the gaming industry's equivalent to reality tv. I'm not too invested in the music industry to care if these games bring new fans to artists and genres. I have a well rounded love for music and my personal choices are just that.
I've played Guitar Hero and DJ Hero. I've also watched my share of reality tv, and I see similarities in the two media formats. Both can't be created fast enough because they are money makers. No need to get offended.

Not to mention, not everyone has the luxury of learning or playing their own instruments, so maybe it's plastic to us, but for them it's like being Van Halen hahaha
Anyways, i still have fun jamming on those guitar hero games, gives me and my friends a chance to have fun and blow off some steam you know?

as i said earlier, i hope bobby kotik is lactose intolerant because hes going to be drowning in his office soon.
im shocked there actually releasing a new IP in singularity, normally they take a old series and just piggyback of the name.
i use to love guitar hero, the first was my most played game on the ps2.
loved the series to death till they had to get greedy and send the series down the sh*tter.
and just to prove the extent of their laziness and unwillingness to spend money the adds for guitar hero 4, guitar hero 5 and DJ hero are exactly the same.
hugh hefner saying what i like variety, than some playboy girls dancing than a gameplay video.
real original!
