Resonance Of Fate Demo Missing Necessary Tutorial
Its modernized, sci-fi setting has piqued the interest of many a role-playing fan. That, and the liberal use of firearms as opposed to the traditional swords, axes, bows, etc.
But when the demo for Resonance of Fate (known as End of Eternity in Japan) hit the Japanese PlayStation Store, a whole lot of people were unhappy with the difficulty of the demo. See, you have the option of two modes: Newcomer and Normal. In Newcomer, you're supposed to have a tutorial but it really only offers a few assistance icons in addition to the on-screen text. This didn't go over well for some and acknowledging a problem, director Takayuki Suguro apologized on the official Resonance of Fate blog (as translated by Andriasang) by admitting a certain oversight. There is an actual tutorial in the final version of the game, where players will learn the ins and outs of the intricate combat system at a special fighting grounds area. It's optional now but at first, a number of tutorials were included in the game; players would unlock new aspects of the battle as they progressed. But the developers decided to change this so the entire battle system was available at the start. So how does this affect the demo?
Well, it does and it doesn't. Basically, Suguro says the demo needed to clear an inspection process and it was made "in parallel with the final version of the game," and as a direct result, they weren't able to spend enough time with the demo. But the point is, you won't be left out in the cold when the game hits store shelves. They'll tell ya exactly what to do.

putting out a buggy demo, what does that say about your game?
i understand they have dead lines and such, BUT if you can not release a demo with it being of high quality and a direct indication of what the full game will be like.
dont, its as simple as that, dont release a demo.
just like army of two the 40th day, the online co-op on that keeps freezing up on me.
if a 20 minute demo of the game freezes up imagine what the rest 9 hours or so of the game are going to be like.

I rather liked what I saw. And after finding out that in the final game you get to build your own weapons, dress your characters up anyway you want and they stay like that in the cut-scenes and how hectic battles can get I'm really looking forward to it.
