Amazon Incentives For MAG Pre-Order

For online multiplayer fans, there's only one game in January that sits atop their priority list: Zipper Interactive's innovative and ambitious MAG.

If you haven't pre-ordered your copy yet, you may want to visit Amazon and take advantage of a few sweet incentives. As spotted by PlayStation LifeStyle, pre-ordering the 256-player battlefield extravaganza from Amazon.com will net you the exclusive S.V.E.R. Home Space, which is very cool if you're a frequent Home inhabitant. As if that's not enough, the online retailer will also toss you a $10 credit towards your next video game purchase, and although that's not as "massive" as they make it sound, it's still a great deal. There's also the now-standard $3 discount you already get from buying your game from Amazon so if you add it all together, there are plenty of reasons to drop your cash on MAG now. It's a guarantee that GameStop and other retailers will offer some sort of pre-order incentive as well, but you may not find a better deal. Besides, we've only seen so-called exclusive bonuses from GameStop, as what they offer can typically be found on the Store as DLC not long after the game's release.

MAG launches on January 26 and it's guaranteed to drag in plenty of gamers who have been looking for the next big thing in online multiplayer. And in this case, we're definitely talking big.

I've played the beta for around 10 hours and it didn't click with me. So many players on the map, but there's not much action. There's a lot more action going on in Resistance 2 with 16-32 players on the field. I'll be waiting to see what others say about the final product because as of now, I'm not buying it.

The deal sounds good though.

what do you overall think about the game so far? I've heard mixed reviews about it, i mean FPS games are not my type, but the concept is interesting.

I partially disagree, while there are few people in the area at certain times, if you are doing what you are supposed to (attacking/defending certain places) there is always a bunch of people at least for me. They were having some problems in the beta with enough people being in the game modes but hopefully when it launches that wont be an issue. As far as the strategy and gameplay I love it but it might not be for everyone cause it is a little slower than some other fps games.
Not saying that you weren't doing what you were supposed to that is.

you can always cancel your pre order, don't think they give money back but I'm pretty sure you can just tell them to put the money towards another game like GOW3 or GT5

Amazon never fails me. You can find just about anything on the site (bought a blue jewish teddy bear last night) for affordable prices. BestBuy is always a hassle with returns and tax. Being a Prime member saves you an assload and you get 2day shipping for free.

only game sitting on my preorder list for january is darksiders.
have heard very good things about it, but than its getting worse reviews than bayonetta and i really did not see the big deal with that.
not saying its a bad game, but no where near as good as its been praised.
so im hopeful and excited but a little worried at the same time.
i may try out army of two the 40th day and dark void, depending on how my wallet goes.
though crapcom have delayed dark void a million times, and no demo, so i doubt ill give that a try.

The MAG beta is opening up again jan 4rth. You MUST try it out before you buy it. IMO , wait until Battlefield BC 2. That game is WAAAAAY better than Mag and It comes out in march.

You have to wait up to 30 seconds for a respawn. In beta I had to wait 5 to 10 minutes JUST TO GET INTO THE GAME! The reason is you have to get so many people in certain situations for even number play. Problem is most everyone plays certain factions while other factions are out numbered! This game was meant for TONS of peeps to play at once. I found out rather quickly it is dull when no one is on.

It will retail for 59. Better to get COD MW2 for 49 or Killzone 2 and wait til march for BF BC2.
Well unless you already have those said games and need something different to play.

MAG is an acquired taste for sure.

Of course you can do what I did and go to the PSN STORE and download .........BLOOD OMEN LEGACY OF KAIN!. HAHAHAAAAA! ............... and Battlefield 1943 ..... :)

Well I know its all about opinion but depending on what phase of the beta you played, they really reduced the times, at most it was 15 seconds to get in the begining time is more of a sync. As for the number of people that should get better with the release cause hopefully more than 1200 people buy the game. That will make all the difference. And personally I hated BFBC not saying that the single player will be bad but I just couldn't get into the online. And I couldn't stand the controls for the beta I hope you will be able to change that. In all honesty niether game is for everyone. But as I said I prefer MAG.

I have high hopes for MAG and while this is a decent deal, I'm inclined to hold off on a purchase until the game is reviewed. I've read a lot of stuff about the beta that was less than glowing. Obviously, its a beta so you can't expect it to be perfect but it seems like there are some inherent drawbacks to the game model. Hopefully, the criticisms will have been addressed, I really hope this game turns out great.

At first I wasn't excited for MAG then I played the beta back in October then I was impressed, its nothing like the conventional fps it plays more like a fps Socom if you ask me. If you played the beta long enough you'll find which players played which games, sometimes I got into the mix with a bunch of COD fans and all they kept doing was running out and getting shot, instead of going after the objectives, that I was giving them. But when I played with some people who plays Socom you can literaly see the difference in play styles just by the way they move around the maps, we were actually working as a unit every one was calling people out going after and completing objectives and gaining major points for doing so all while having the most fun in a fps since KZ2.

Actually Banky, some of those players are on your team. Let them go first and clean up when they take a bullet to the head. It's a good way to stay alive long enough to see who's shooting you.

I think it was worth posting on this one.
Everyone here seems like they are just trying to come up with all the reasons why MAG suck or why they did like it. Please leave those opinions to yourselves. I just don't get it a new IP comes out all but like 4 post were negative or talking about how its not like COD or BF2. Guys its MAG not Call of Duty: MAG or Battlefield 2: MAG. I really love this game and it is great but what makes it great is the people that you play with and you guys here obviously judge a game way way hard. Its a NEW IP THIS HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE, give it a chance. I'm really disappointed in you guys.

Secondly I think plenty of people on here have praised MAG and are patiently waiting for the open Beta so they can play it. I'm a big fan of BF2 and while I treat FPS on consoles like retarded girls with cute voices I'm atleast going to give it a chance.
