Hollywood Looking To Cash In On Darksiders, Too?
Oh, big surprise.
According to what Vigil creative director Joe Madureira told VG247, Hollywood is already thinking about a film based on the recently released Darksiders. This is hardly surprising as movie directors are turning to games more often to get ideas for action films, and with THQ's latest production, this one could almost be closer to a horror movie. Either way, it'll definitely be a consideration. Said Madureira:
“We’ve gotten some interest from Hollywood, we’ve talked about doing a comic series. At least a couple of those things have to happen, I’m sure. It’s really a THQ thing, but I know they are definitely talking to people and I would be surprised if some of that stuff didn’t happen."
Although the game hasn't received the same hype as Bayonetta, which launched yesterday as well, early review scores have been overwhelmingly positive. But the concept, where you play as one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (fittingly, War), is almost tailor-made for an over-the-top film. Movies based on games have historically done poorly but we're reaching a point where theater-goers probably don't even know what they're seeing started out as a video game. How much you wanna bet that the majority of those who see "Prince of Persia" have no idea it was ever a game?

I saw The Dark Knight on opening weekend in Chicago on Imax and LOVED it but in no way do I consider it to be the best or even close to the best movie ever made. Likewise AVATAR is an amazing movie and a perfect example of how to wow the audience and market a movie.
You're being foolish and showing your age with your comment regarding The Dark Knight. Especially when you throw out faulty logic right before you procalim it's the greatest movie ever.
*Edit* I'm also going to assume you've never seen Avatar in 3D or not.

the story is really interesting, and it has what all good movies need.
plenty of action!
i would love to see a dantes inferno movie, now that would be cool!
i wont hold my breath on it being any good because game to movies have a worse record than movie to games, and there not exactly shinning.
mortal kombat springs to mind, the games everyone of them a masterpiece in its own way.
wish i could say the same about the movies.

it was a fighting movie, just with the MK characters thrown into it.
i would love to see a prequel to the series, where scorpions parents get killed and hes led to believe sub zero killed them when it was quan chi.
scorpions my favorite character by far.
maybe they could do a mortal kombat origins scorpion?
now that would be cool!
