Nier Confirmed For Spring 2010 North American Release
Don't we have enough RPGs coming out in the first half of 2010?! We role-playing fans are going to have to request 36-hour days from the government, or something.
We've just learned that Square-Enix's more adult-themed action/RPG, Nier, is scheduled to arrive in North America for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this Spring. That could mean as early as late March or early April, or as late as early June. In all honesty, as much as we want to get our hands on this one, we'd almost prefer later rather than sooner, what with White Knight Chronicles hitting in February and Final Fantasy XIII launching in March. We never considered Nier was quite this close; if anything, we would've guessed at a Spring 2010 release for Japan, but not for the US. Now we're wondering if we might be looking at a worldwide simultaneous release for this one, but either way, we'll have to start paying very close attention to what appears to be a unique and entertaining adventure. Oh, and we definitely want a playable demo on the PSN at some point within the next few months; we didn't get one in this region for FFXIII (at least, not yet) and that sucks. Give us a little look-see ahead of time, Square-Enix!
Stay tuned for more concerning Nier; we'll be scrounging about for more details and info as time rolls on.

I'm beginning to think that as game makers like SE who have traditionally not made M rated titles, move into making M-rated games. The 'game' becomes less game like as a result of aiming for the M-rated audience. I play games to escape and enjoy. To be distracted and find pleasure without the concerns of real life barging into my mind for a while. This doesn't look like a game to me. I don't know what to call it since it's clearly a video game, but it really doesn't look like a game, it looks like a chore.

Whatever happened to the sci-fi genre? That's where the *real* adventures awaits. Anything can happen in the future! Strange new worlds, to boldly go where no man has gone before... Oh no. All we RPG lovers get thrown after us is witches and trees that can talk (and fight)! Damn that Tolkien bloke...

publishers are really kicking themselves in the balls with game releases this year.
almost every game announced due for this year is due by Q2 2010.
i mean seriously, is the world going to end or something and we need to get these titles out before then?
normally may- early sept is a complete drought and it looks like this years going to be exactly the same.
latest game release that i can think of is red dead redemption which is april 30th after that theres no game dates announced, obviously that can change but i cant think of any announced games that are due out this year that dont have a date by now.
O besides LA Noire but, well, i doubt thats coming this year, same with agent.

The game stays the same, the hardware is the same, nothing changes by delaying the buy. All that happens is that you'll afford to buy more games.
