Is A Starhawk Unveiling Looming Large On The Horizon?
Warhawk was one of the best early exclusives for the PlayStation 3 and remains one of the most entertaining, fulfilling online multiplayer experiences available.
Therefore, it's only natural for us to be interested in the sequel, known as Starhawk. Lead Warhawk designer Dylan Jobe left Incognito to form Lightbox Entertainment and ever since then, we've only heard snippets about Starhawk (we're not even sure if the name is confirmed), and for the most part, the project remains in the dark. But there may be more news forthcoming according to GamingVice. First of all, this game could very well be officially unveiled at E3, which would be big news in and of itself. Secondly, while everyone should expect the fairly standard online components like "Deathmatch" and "Team Deathmatch," there will also be a single-player campaign to go along with the numerous multiplayer modes. On top of which, the developers may be aiming for more of a MMO feel, presenting us with a downright massive universe - after all, the game is called "Starhawk" - and the idea of having multiple planets and star systems just begging to be explored is a damn good one. We do hope they keep the same type of gameplay format, though; we loved the flight mechanics in Warhawk...still some of the best I've seen.
Remember, a great many people didn't even have a PS3 when Warhawk came out in the summer of 2007, so this will seem very new to millions. But if we use Warhawk as a launching pad for Starhawk, we may be able to understand more about this mysterious sequel.

It's still the most engrossing third person online game I've ever played
It literally feels like a war is going on (this was such a big deal for me. Was really cool when it came out since there were tons of players on all the time)
Anyway, can't wait to see what Starhawk is like. Hopefully they balance out air combat a little better (the hawks dominated too much imo)

thats the one thing that really disappointed me about MAG and warhawk.
i dont buy online only games.
id like to see warhawk but in space and with really cool futuristic weapons, but than if its online only no thanks.
id love to see another fighter jet game like HAWX.
that was a decent game just lacked polish and attention to detail, and was a little to restrictive and linear.

On a related note, remake Colony Wars for the PS3. Psygnosis (now Studio Liverpool) was an excellent internal developer for the PS1 with many great IPs under its belt that for some reason it has never revisited (except for Wipeout) on the PS2 or PS3.
