EA: "Major MMO" Will Launch Some Time Next Spring
As more people flock to online multiplayer games, MMOs should - by default - become more and more popular.
And it seems EA will provide us with a big one in 2011, although they won't put a name to the hype just yet. As reported by Joystiq, EA CEO John Riccitiello said the company is planning to launch a "major MMO" in the spring of 2011. This came during the publisher's reduced earnings conference call yesterday and it already has everyone thinking: could this be BioWare's massive project, Star Wars: The Old Republic? The official site has plenty of info if you're not up to speed just yet, and it's definitely a game that will appeal to all fans of the legendary movie and game franchise (just don't confuse it with a sequel to Knights of the Old Republic II, or something). On the other hand, they could be referring to either APB or Need for Speed: World Online, two projects that have yet to snag the industry limelight. We'd almost like to think it's one of the latter two titles, just because we had hoped to see The Old Republic some time this year.
Either way, we'll have to wait for the announcement; whatever it is, EA is banking on it to do well next year.

im probably the only one who enjoyed the first one, very good game except FAR! to short.
hopefully this time they make the game 10 times longer, take weapon customization and force skill customization to the extreme, add many more combos, maybe have a few different characters to play as.
or even have it as 2 player online or offline co-op.
i LOVE! army of two, only because of its co-op mechanics.
i mean you can pick up a shield and get your friend to hop behind you and pop enemies off with his shoty.
i mean come on why has no other shooter copied that yet?
here i was thinking shooters have evolved as far as they could.
thats what killzone 3 needs, a team based system like army of two.
but seriously developers WTF ARE YOU WAITING FOR!
the amount of ps3 games that support co-op is laughable!
