Rumor: Bad Company 2 Demo Hits Europe On February 4

EA has been hyping it up ever since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 stormed the shelves and now, we learn you should get a taste of it very soon.

You may have already participated in the beta test for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which was temporarily exclusive to the PlayStation 3 (a PC beta is coming up) but if not, you can simply try the demo. According to European site NextGamer, a demo will go up on the PlayStation Nework and Xbox Live Marketplace on February 4. This is one week after the start of the PC beta, which begins on January 28. Now, as this is a European source, we're going to assume - just for the sake of optimistic argument - that the demo will be available in North America on January 28; demos have typically hit the US one week earlier than European regions. Hence, you should definitely check the Store next Thursday to see if the demo is available, because you'll want a closer look at this very promising sequel. EA has said it could compete very favorably with Modern Warfare 2 and based on the footage we've seen, they went all out in terms of dynamic team combat and vehicular insanity. The online multiplayer component will most certainly be bigger and better, too.

For those of you who enjoyed the first title, Bad Company 2 is a no-brainer. The same wisecracking squad is back and just about everything else has been upgraded...how can you lose?

The Beta was great, looking forward to this in a big way. Demo was supposed to be available to people who pre-ordered 1 week early but is now not to be :( Hope to see you all on the Battlefield for the demo.

I had it confirmed by my retailer when they announced to me that the 1 week preview was no more, that the demo is available to download in Europe on the 4th.

As for COD compared to this there is no comparison in my eyes, MW2 is an arcade/arena game with limited scope and size, BDBC2 is an intense multilayer squad based adrenalin fuelled battle. I suggest surround sound for this, BF games have always sounded great!

hope they've re-introduced some of the older battlefield elements like squad leaders and way-pointing. Thought that was lacking in the previous BFBC. MAG Beta proved it can be done. Still going to enjoy it though.

I don't believe there is a leading platform, but considering the Beta was PS3 only that was a huge plus. This is my top game I'm looking forward to playing this year, behind Heavy Rain, GOW III, and Bioshock2. Many others as well, BC2 I think has the perfect balance from fighting, leveling buildings, and tactics. I sold MW2 so March needs to hurry up!

Lately, it would seem that as a whole MW2 is losing alot of PS3 players...either out of boredome, or just shear disgust since IW is so incredibly slow in addressing hack/cheat issues. I think there are alot of people out there, including me, who are eager to take a look at a new fps...one that isn't taken over and ruined for the average gamer.

Boredom and frustration were the final nails in the coffin for MW2 in my opinion. When I bought it I really wasn't expecting to be very impressed and I wasn't. Still though, I couldn't help but feel underwhelmed.

Every time I would play in TDM it would be the same lame people on mics, talking sh*te, and using Akimbo. Yeah thats part of the game and a perk, but it doesn't take skill to use it. The lag issues regarding the opponent taking 5 or 6 bullets in the chest then stabbing me from 8 or 9 feet away somehow transcends ridiculous.

Playing Spec Ops with homies was a blast but there are only so many, and using tactics on Veteran made the AI easy to serve. I just found myself dumping hours and hours into the Bad Company 2 Beta instead of this game sitting in my stack. I have come to appreciate DICE and the Frostbite Engine way more, I just love how the enemies and team mates interact in BC2. Like how the US team would talk sh*te to the opposing team when they smoke someone.

If your anticipating Battlefield Bad Company 2 as much as I am, you won't be let down.
