PSXE Poll Update: God Of War III Is All That Matters
We figured it would be a three-horse race but perhaps due to the skepticism hovering around Final Fantasy XIII, SCEA's God of War III sprinted to an easy victory this week.
Although the next few months are packed, most agree that GoWIII tops the priority list. While certain groups of gamers have their reservations about both FFXIII and Heavy Rain, it's difficult to find anyone who isn't anxiously anticipating this massive launch. Anybody who has seen the footage they've released thus far is well aware of the brilliance of this action smash, and others have already played the demo available in the God of War Collection. It's an absolute can't miss. FFXIII came in a solid 2nd but we know why it has dropped in popularity thus far in 2010. As for Heavy Rain, it's a distant third but we get the feeling that if we didn't include March (when both FFXIII and GoWIII arrive), Quantic Dream's potential masterpiece would reign supreme on your most anticipated lists. Oddly enough, there are more people looking forward to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 than Bioshock 2...both of these original titles were great, of course, but we just have to give the edge to Bioshock.
This week, we wanna know who's picking up MAG. This gigantic MMOFPS launches today and we're interested to see how many PS3 owners are planning to nab this uber-ambitious title. Bear in mind that it might take a little while before the servers are loaded up enough so you'll have multiple chances at 250+ players per map. But hey, the more gamers who buy it, the more soldiers will be online. Or are you biding your time and waiting for the big titles in February?

As far as MAG I have the same mind set as you Alienange. I want it now, but I'm going to wait til the patches release and a bunch of people start playing.

Also if you've tried Socom before and got rid of it because of the glitches that came with it, I'd recommend giving it another go. I stuck through it all and now, it's a really solid online shooter. With the new maps and most of the glitches fixed it's the game it should have been when it released.
It's to bad Slant 6 dropped the ball with that one, Socom has lost a lot of respect this time around thanks to a mediocre effort from a mediocre company that didn't seem to care about the fans of the series.
I heard a rumour somewhere that zipper may be working on another SOCOM with a single player mode as well, but I can't seem to confirm if it's true or not.

I am definitely the most excited for God of War 3. I missed 1 and 2 the first time around, so I rented the collection when it was released, and I fell in love. The gameplay is just amazing, and the combos are incredible. I have the Ultimate Collection preordered.
I am also excited for Heavy Rain, just because it is something so different and so daring.
I do not care about Final Fantasy, and I haven't even played the first Bioshock yet. I want to, but I don't want to play 2 before I play the first one.
As for Magazine, it doesn't really interest me. Its not that I don't like FPS's, I just prefer games that give the player a single-player option, same reason I couldn't ge into Warhawk.

Nice condescending tone btw. Very manly.
If I'm putting £40 down for a game in March/April, I'm going to make sure it's on something I'll likely enjoy playing. Does it really matter to you which game that happens to be?

And no I don't have enough of my own money to buy a game... AND my infamous pink striped Pumas' you guys have heard me wishing for :D
All I'm waiting for is GOWIII, GT5 and a racing wheel like the DFGT or G25/27.
FFXIII (RPG's are my favourites) might make it, I'll ask my neighbour for a review. And I would really love M.A.G.

My reason for not buying MAG is beyond my control. I pay a high price for sub par internet service, but it is way faster than dial up.

The GOW series however, has me hooked. I've been a Kratos fan ever since that first epic hydra fight years ago. Got the demo code with GOW Collection and I've played it a couple times. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure yet, YES it's THAT good! Also... if you don't have an HDTV yet; buy, borrow, or steal one before you play this game, it's a pre-requisite.

Am getting God of War 3 day 1 and I'll be ordering the GoW collection off of Axelmusic as soon as I get my internet banking stuff, if I have enough money left I might get Heavy Rain too, since I'm not going after the GoW Ultimate Trilogy Edition anymore. But first SNOWBOARDING THIS SATURDAY, YEAH!!! and until then I'll play through the GoW3 demo some more. and try to collect all blast shards and do all stunts in InFamous.

i think i'll just get them all, humm how much that will cost !!!?
God of War 3 for sure, i'm trying to get the Ultimate Edition, not easy on import for Mauritius, else i already have my perso DEALER pre-ordering it so will get it somehow.
Already preordered Special Edition of Heavy Rain.
Thinking seriously about GT5 / MNR / MAG ...
i Would really love to see The Last Guardian this year, but they can take their time, we do have a lot to do this year & would like it to be a top flawless game along a Team ICO HD collection.
Multiplats i'll go for Dante's Inferno / Darksiders / maybe BCBF2 / Castlevania Lords of shadow ... well it comes this year.
2K10 is the year of the PS3 & 2K11 will be owned by PS3 & the PC if Starcraft & Diablo III finally comes out...
cheers!

The games have it all from brutal fluid combat, epic battles, mind bogging puzzles, fantastic platforming, explosive set pieces, great graphics, good story, etc, etc.
GOW 3 will likely join the other two games as my all time favorites. The series is gaming at it's best.

As for GoWIII, I already reserved the Ultimate edition and it'll be the first collectors edition that I've gotten.
Some of the comments have said that the formula is the same in GoWIII and that other games like Heavy Rain and the like deserve more attention for being fresh and new. I can respect that. I will be getting HR day one and enjoy the experience, however for a Greek mythology nut like myself GoWIII is a must buy, not only to finish the story but to see what new and wacky stuff Santa Monica studio came up with. Ever since the first GoW released I wondered what else SM could do AFTER they had put GoW to bed, so I'm going to enjoy their hard work and support them and wait for a new IP (fingers crossed).
My birthday is today and my wish is for everyone here to have a great year in gaming and I think Sony will (and already has) made that wish come true. Cheers!

All Mag needs is some motivation.
This is how I get my group excited to play just before we fight in MW2. I give them a little pep talk.
"Be seated. Now I want you guys to remember ... no noob ever won a MW war by dieing for his Clan. You win it buy making the other poor dumb noob die for THIER CLAN. Men. All this stuff you heard of american gamers wanting to play rpgs to kill fairies and overrated adventure games is a load a crap! Real american gamers traditionally LOVE A FPS like MW2. They LOVE the sting of battle!
When you were kids you loved to see a noob step into a grenade, loved to see Chuck Norris smack someone, and loved an autobot and decepticon destroying stuff in a fight. Americans LOVE a winner and WILL NOT TOLERATE AN EMO WUSSIE STORY DRIVEN LOSER! American gamers play to win all the time. I wouldnt give a hoot-n-hell for a man who got knifed and laughed. That is why our clan has NEVER lost a fight and NEVER WILL lose a MW war! Why?
Because the thought of losing is hateful to american gamers of fps multiplayer games.
Now our clan is a team. We eat, sleep, and fight as a team. This individuality playing is a bunch of crap. Those wussie gaming journalists and reviewers who write about individual gaming in FPS'ers dont know any more about REAL BATTLE than they do about REAL WOMEN!
Now we have the best system with the ps3, the best TV's,the best connections, the best spirit, and the best FPS'ers in the world. You know what? I feel sorry for these poor dumb noobs getting ready to fight us. By god I do!
We are not just going to kill the noobs. We are going to destroy them and tell them in chat how bad they suck! Were are going to WTF PWN THEM BY THE BUSHEL!
Now some of you boys are wondering if you will chicken out during the match. Dont worry about it. I can assure you that you will all do your duty.
The NOOBS are the enemy. Take away THIER POINTS! Make THEM want to quit. Make THEM want to smash thier systems in and cry to mommy!
When you listen to a noob who just killed your clan member talk pure crap ....... you'll know what to do.
One more thing. I dont ever want to hear that we dont like to camp the noobs at spawn points. If they suck so bad that we can camp and kill them the whole match then SO BE IT! We are going to grab them by the nose and kick them in the ass until they cry and accuse us of cheating!
Now. There is one thing that you men will be able to say when you cut the PS3 off and you can thank God for it. 30 years from now when your grand kids ask you, "PAPPY! What did YOU do during the Great MODERN WAREFARE 2 WAR?!?!" you wont have to say ..... "Well, I played Final Fantasy 10 Part 2 and dressed girls up in different clothes for power ups and girlie chat".
Now you sons of bytches know how I feel. I am proud to lead this clan into battle, anytime, especially around 5 pm est until around 8 becuase I like to watch House.
End of Line.
