The Last Guardian Website Opens, Screens And Videos Included
We may not have a release date yet, but at least know we have a place to go and drool over a bunch of media.
It's a little curious that we haven't heard more of Team ICO's The Last Guardian since it was revealed in 2009 but now, we have good news for everyone anxiously anticipating this very promising PlayStation 3 exclusive. The Japanese website has gone live, and it already boasts a bunch of tasty screenshots and two trailers that will leave you breathless. Granted, you've already seen these videos if you've been paying attention to game news over the past year - one is from E3 2009 and the other is from TGS 2009 - but even so, they're definitely worth seeing a few times over. I think what's going to be most intriguing isn't necessarily the platforming and puzzle solving (as unique and engaging as I expect it to be), but the contrast in size between the kid and the creature. That may seem like a trivial surface observation but imagine what can be done with this on an artistic level...a level with which Team ICO is quite familiar. Considering that ICO and Shadow of the Colossus are two of the most respected titles in history, one has to assume that The Last Guardian is headed for eventual immortality as well.
But we still need to see some actual gameplay, and we'll also need a fact sheet that outlines the foundation; i.e., the mechanics and controls. Hopefully, now that the site is up, that info won't be long in coming.

Just reading about the gameplay doesn't seem all that interesting, (I guess I need to own the actual game to appreciate them). I'm definitely interested in trying them out. I'm just wondering why such highly scored games aren't selling multi-million copies?

*Points at Uncharted 2*
They didn't get a shetload of advertising months ahead of release like MW2. I hadn't even heard of ICO since a few years back. I only got it when I found out that it was made by the same peeps who made SotC.

It's a shame, I understand that the FPS genre is widely popular, but it really is mind boggling how such a ground breaking title gets overlooked.

They know how to introduce elements that are FUN (gameplay wise)
But they don't stop there, they give you an underlying story which CREEPS up on you and you realizes as you journey on, how deep and how PURE it is.
Really love the "ICO" series....(I really suggest anyone who missed on ICO to get that game)
PS: Is it just me or does Demon's Souls and ICO share some awesome similarities?

Oh, and BTW, I'd kill for a ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Collection on the PS3 (ala God of War Collection). Make it happen, Sony! =D

That's two games, I was a Top Gun contender in Nintendo Power while you were still a semen stain on your moms pillow.

i want too, but not enough to spend 200 bucks on a ps2 and another 50 or so for both games.
cant wait for the last guardian though the E3 video looked amazing though im in serious doubt that it will be out this year.
knowing sonys style they will announce a release date in a few months than delay it 15 times between that and release.
