Nier Gets North American Launch Date
What could very well be Square-Enix's most mature role-playing title thus far now has a solidified release date for North America.
Previously, we had learned Nier would definitely arrive in the US some time this spring but now, the official press release says it will land on store shelves on April 27. It will be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and this action/RPG is destined to turn a few heads, especially long-time Square followers who haven't seen this adult-oriented side of the company before. Developed by Cavia, Inc., Nier combines an engaging, twisting storyline with in-depth character development and features the main character Nier, who is seeking a cure for his stricken daughter, Yonah. The Black Scrawl is threatening to spread quickly and Nier must battle the dark, mystical creatures that have arisen due to this plague. Can he save his daughter and himself? Gain the help of powerful allies, unleash brutal combos via insane physical and magical attacks, and explore a world wrought with strife and sorrow. For more information and media, visit the game's official site; it boasts new screens and the trailer that debuted at last year's Tokyo Game Show.
Square-Enix is coming hard with the games in the first part of 2010; in addition to Nier, we know Front Mission Evolved is also on the list, and so is Final Fantasy XIII. Which will you play?

Nier's videos made it look interesting. I won't mind trying this in April. By that time, I should be all caught up on hurricane of games nailing me in February and March.

Anyone seen the White Knight Chronicles IGN review? It reads like they played the first 3 hours of the game, slapped a low-score on it, and then went to the bank with their paycheck.
I'll have the game in my hands in a few hours, I'll try and let you guys know what I think of it sometime tomorrow.

I noticed that the fool who reviewed it (Ryan Clements) is trying to defend his work. IGN proves once again that they are a joke and anybody who pays $20 to use their premium message boards doesn't know any better. Yet another website filled with "smack-talking 13 year old boys".

I'm not too concerned about the reviews. Reviewers in general tend to be pretty harsh towards jrpgs.
Please let me know what you think though. I'm still waiting on my Amazon shipment.
If we happen to both be on at the same time, feel free to send me an invite.
