New LEGO Star Wars Will Feature New Gameplay Options
Never underestimate the popularity of those LEGO-based titles by Traveller's Tales.
Most all these games in the ongoing series have been solid and great fun for two friends. However, you might assume they'll say goodbye to the "Star Wars" angle after several successful installments; maybe they'd move on to another big movie franchise. But instead, according to Joystiq, TT Games will bring Star Wars III: The Clone Wars to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, and DS this autumn. It's based on the Cartoon Network animated show of the same name and we can expect "brand new modes, giving players unique, head-to-head combat," plus an "expanded level editor." We're intrigued by that "head-to-head" bit; it seems to be a definite departure from the cooperative partner-based multiplayer mode in past titles. To add even more depth will be the inclusion of new tactics, such as Squad Command, Grapple Tie-Ups, and various Lightsaber techniques. There's no doubt that there's an overabundance of Star Wars fans and these days, the original fans are passing that fascination along to their kids. Hence, these LEGO games have an audience.
Anybody have any other ideas for LEGO-based games? What else can they LEGO-fy? Heck, they've already done it to Rock Band; what else could they do? Maybe the options are endless...

I think it would be hilarious to see little lego men ejected from their cars on impact and fly to pieces.
Oh man this idea keeps growing in my head.. Let's say you hit another player and their car flies to pieces as well as yours, to continue the race you have to rebuild your car first with the pieces lying around. In order to rebuild you can steal pieces from your opponents car. By the time you finish the race your car looks nothing like when you started.
Throw some online play in with that add some burnout, motorstorm and Lego and voila a game for all ages!
And while were at it, why not make it a release title for the new "ARC" controllers..lol
If you want to do a spin off of movies, there's always the Matrix lego, but since I'm going on about racers, why not a fast and furious lego, can anyone imagine Vin Diesel as a lego character?
Or a Bourne trilogy lego? Sorry I just keep getting more and more ideas...lol, and none of them are any good.

Think about it. Literally build your own towns or cities piece by piece, They can add expansion packs whenever they want to bring in different LEGO worlds. It could be like Word of Warcraft lego-sized. Lego quests to find the missing piece...
And to insure that everyone is not just playing lego on their favourite console, They could have quests that will give you discount redeem codes to go buy the real LEGO on store shelves. Anyone remember LegoLand as a kid? Now people can rebuild their own lego world both online and in their homes.
Throw in some prizes for best recreation of their online city and you've got something that kids and parents can do together. And obviously whoever spends the most time and money on LEGO products will have the best chance of winning. ;p

The God of War HD remake for the PS3 has been very popular in the US and people in Europe are very much looking forward to it. Do you have any interest in creating an HD remake of a PS1 or PS2 Final Fantasy game?
We don’t know the details about the HD remake of God of War. If it’s just a case of attaining high resolution graphics, only, then that wouldn’t be that difficult, but if we were to achieve the same graphical standard as in XIII with a PS1 title, then that would be a huge, huge task. Almost unrealistic. Even with a PS2 title it would be difficult. In the case of God of War, there weren’t really that many characters in the game — the main character and some monsters, maybe ten people or so. That would not be unachievable. As with Final Fantasy titles in the past, like on PS1, even just the main characters amount to around 10 people. Then you have all the NPCs, you’re probably looking at about 200 characters total. All with individual textures for the skin, plus costumes, facial features and everything. That would be a really tricky job.

there should be a law stating every single game has to support split screen co-op and use the tech that lego Indiana Jones 2 uses.
you know how if you and your mate are close its 1 screen but if you separate too far away it splits into 2.
GENIUS!
