Recent GT5 Footage Displays Visual Improvement
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue came out quite some time ago, so you might be wondering if you'll see a significant graphical upgrade when you finally pop Gran Turismo 5 into your PlayStation 3.
Well, according to the latest bit of info and media provided by GTPlanet, the differences can already be seen in a recent GT Academy 2010 build. The screenshots clearly show rougher and more defined grass, tire ruts, and even individual pieces of vegetation like dandelions and weeds. The surface of the track also appears sharper and clearer with more detail from tire tracks, and that addition of flying debris will certainly make things feel even more realistic. The site provides you with a few more examples of the upgraded visuals and hopefully, we'll be able to see such examples in actual video at some point in the near future. Sometimes, it's difficult to believe Polyphony can continue to make the visuals even more impressive than they already are, but whenever we see the latest, we're once again blown away. And besides, we really don't want to get GT5 and say, "damn, this isn't any different or any better than freakin' Prologue, which released years ago!" We know the developers haven't been sitting on their laurels - the recent delay has supposedly been attributed to adding in 3D compatibility plus a few other options, like that nifty GPS feature - but even so, we still like to see progress. Doesn't everyone?
The most recent evidence says GT5 will likely release this fall or at the latest, just in time for the holidays. However, until we hear something concrete, it's all nothing more than rumor.

GT5P had the boring looking grass, they fixed it and by adding gorgeous details to it. I hope they also update the audience at the side of the road. When you look at them closely, they look like a character from a PS1 game.

If we were told 18 months ago, "right gamers you can have GT Prologue now and you will get GT5 in two years", we would have sucked it up and got on with it.
It's the fact that we are told, it can be released anytime, it's coming in 2009, then it's coming in March 2010, then it's coming sometime around August 2010.
You can only cry wolf so many times before it annoys people. I looked at GT Prologue and thought, "will I get this or wait for GT5" and thought the same for Grid and thought the same for Dirt 2.
If they say it's not coming until the PS4 I'm even fine with that as I wont be expecting it anytime soon and I can get on with planning my purchases based on something more than vapour.

Gran Turismo has never been a title that followed a punctual timeline.
It has however, been a game that has unmatched quality.
GT5 will be no different.
Plus, where has there ever been a rock solid date out of Japan??

But seriously, i still love Prologue and impressed with that games graphics, the texture and feel of the track is much more physical. PD always said they weren't done with the graphics, now is see what Mr. Yamauchi means.

As of right now nothing can compare to what GT5 is shaping up to be, in terms of racers!

war devil was announced at E3 2005 if i remember right and we have not heard boo since.
that is suppose to be THE game to push the ps3 to the limits.
1080P 60FPS 4XMSAA.
O and apparently syphon filter is suppose to be announced in a few weeks time.
SWEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
crash bandicoot + syphon filter 5 = everything ill ever need for the rest of my life.

If Sony is delaying it for a technical reason and not a marketing reason then that's fine.
We are just asking for a bit more transparency in their development timelines.
If you read the reviews for GT5 Prologue (March 08) many say good game but you might as well wait for the full version to come out!
Well we know now that it's over two years between drinks. Some of us are thirsty!!!

PD did tell us that there'll be some transfer of data(as you know) so we're only gaining.
Hell, to the general viewing public, alot of GT5P players still save up 2 million dollars and continually buy F1 cars as a sort of investment. Provided they let us keep all of our cars, selling excess F1 cars gives us a chance to start out rich...if we want to.
