God Of War III Ultimate Edition Sold Out At Amazon
You may balk at the price, but those who have been waiting anxiously for this blockbuster's release may be planning to shell out for that sweet Ultimate Edition of God of War III.
But fair warning: as noted by PlayStation LifeStyle, you had best put your money down at a brick-and-mortar store if you wish to nab it. Amazon.com says the Ultimate Edition for GoWIII is already sold out, despite that lofty $99.99 price tag, which means you should shoot on down to GameStop soon if you wish to guarantee yourself one of those attractive packages. Other retailers may also offer a pre-order opportunity but for now at least, Amazon is out. On the other hand, if you'd rather not drop the c-note for the special edition, you can still pre-order the standard edition at Amazon and get yourself a $10 credit. This will be applied to the price of $56.99, which means you can nab one of the year's best for only $46.99, a deal you really won't find at GameStop (or anywhere else, for that matter). The Amazon pre-order also nets you a free in-game "Apollo Skin" so that's another little bonus for the hardcore fans. We still think the Ultimate Edition could be well worth the price for all you GoW lovers out there, if only because of its excellent quality and horde of goodies.
But hey, if you want the best stuff, you usually have to be proactive. This situation is no different so bear in mind that the Ultimate Edition may go faster than anticipated...from just about everywhere.

I was expecting it to be $270 or $280 in New Zealand. I feel like we Aussies and New Zealanders are being ripped off compared to those in the US.
$99 for the ultimate edition in the US?!?!? Thats incredibly cheap. However, for the not-yet-released collection and all those downloadable goodies, God of War Ultimate Collection is worth the hefty price in my eyes.
Of all PSP games I own (about 9 of em), Chains of Olympus is the only title I own to get multiple play-throughs. It really is THAT GOOD!!!
After playing the demo, I know for sure God of War 3 will not disappoint. Slick graphics, smooth gameplay, great combos and HUUUUGE boss battles that redefine the word "EPIC"!!!
I've got myself too excited now. Dammit, I've lost patience again!!! I wanna play God of War 3 now!!!!!!

I would rather have 1 minute with a Ferrari Enzo rather than a year with a Ford Laser, '87 model.
It's not always about the length of a game, but how much fun you have with it. Like Uncharted 2, it wasn't as long as say... GTA IV, but it packed one helluva punch.
10-18 hours is the usual recommended playtime for a game. As long as GoW III falls under that category, I will be one very happy chappy.

FF13, Heavy Rain, and GOW3 are all for sure AAA titles coming out within the same time frame so it's understood that I'm suggesting they all offer stellar gameplay and are worthy of being played. Having that knowledge I was simply pointing out that I'd gladly choose a game/games that offer me more gameplay than another comparable game especially if they both cost the same. I'll be buying GOW3 in the summer.

Nice try, but "You can't put pandora back in the box" comes from a pothead in "Pineapple Express" who obviously doesn't understand Pandora isn't IN the box, lol.

I do agree with Ben's article from months ago that adult gamers prefer shorter games. This is why I love Uncharted 2 and will love God of War III. It's also hard to play games with parents on your back the whole time. They still see it as a children's thing I should have grown out of.
Anyways, LimitedVertigo, I didn't mean to compare great games like Heavy Rain and FF XIII to a Ford Laser. I was just giving an over-exaggerated example to prove my point that longer games do not necessarily mean better games.
Since I'm going back to uni next week, I will have less time for gaming than ever before. This is where little free moments to play Heavy Rain or God of War will come in handy. That also means very little time to deal with long quests, fights, etc, that are found in most RPG's. This is why I am limiting my purchases to FF XIII.
AND I do understand I will be missing out on something special with WKC and DS. But thems the breaks.
BTW, at WorldEndsWithMe.... AWESOME Pineapple Express reference. Don't know how I missed it. Heheh, and I love brain teasers, LOL.

I get what you're talking about. I'm currently getting my 2nd degree and working full time AND still finding time for gaming. I think my ability to function on 4-5hrs of sleep daily helps a lot.
Good luck at school and while you may not have time for certain games at this point in your life don't forget about them; they'll be real treats months from now at reduced prices.

I am putting off Bioshock 2 until a cheaper time in order to pay off my God of War Ultimate Trilogy here in Oz.
Cannot wait to get my hands on this one. I WILL OPEN PANDORA'S BOX ON 16TH MARCH 2010. (So much for 2012 being the end of the world)
Either that or WorldEndsWithMe will open it and his name will come true.
