Assassin's Creed And FNR 3 Up For Visual Awards

Some games are so good, they receive praise and accolades before they're even released.

Ubisoft's highly anticipated title, Assassin's Creed, which hasn't yet seen release, has been nominated for an award by the Visual Effects Society, the country's preeminent organization of effects artists. Considering the game isn't actually available for play, maybe it was the trailer that's being nominated for two awards: Outstanding Real Time Visuals in a Video Game and Outstanding Pre-Rendered Visuals in a Video Game. The Society further mentioned Ubisoft Montreal staff members Jade Raymond, Nicolas Cantin, Raphael Lacoste, Christophe Martin, Thomas Giroux, and Anne Mai Le Bouvonnec as prospective honorees.

The only competition Creed faces for the Outstanding Real Time Visuals award is the PS3 version of Fight Night Round 3, developed by EA, strangely labeled Chicago studio, EA Chicago. The names here include Kat Kelly Hayduk, Sjoholm Christopher, Hilson Rob, and Jepson Celia. As for the Pre-Rendered Visuals, Ubisoft's production faces more trailers- the 2006 E3 trailers for Hellgate: London and Warhammer: Mark of Chaos. Namco Bandai is responsible for publishing both games, and the trailers were created by Tim Miller and Jerome Denjean.

The VES Awards will be distributed at the Kodak Grand Ballroom in Hollywood, California (also the site of the Academy Awards). Now in its fifth year, most of the awards for TV and film work are already gone, but now it's time for the real awards. Seems you only need a sweet-lookin' trailer to get recognized...who says they're not worth anything?
