Alpha Protocol "Goes Beyond Fantasy And Space" On June 1
"The Espionage RPG" has been operating covertly for a while, refusing to launch until its good and ready.
Well, after a delay or two, Alpha Protocol finally has a new official release date. Today, Sega has announced that Obsidian Entertainment's promising choice-driven RPG - described as "fiercely original" in the press release - will be on store shelves for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on June 1. With an experience similar to that of watching an episode of "24," this adventure should feel intense and action-packed, with a "new level of modern day realism." You will have to discover the terrorists who shot down a passenger airliner with a missile, and depending on your decisions, the course of the story can change dramatically. Who will you befriend and who will you eliminate? As rookie spy Michael Thorton, we will have "unprecedented control over the development of his abilities and interactions with other characters." Said Sean Ratcliffe, Vice President of Marketing for Sega of America:
"The wait has been worth it. It is time for an RPG to go beyond fantasy and space. The genre needs a shot in the arm, and renowned developer Obsidian has delivered. Alpha Protocol will be the absolute best it can be, and we look forward to revealing fresh aspects of it to the community in the upcoming months."
That's a pretty strong statement and we're hoping Alpha Protocol will make good on his promise. If you're convinced, feel free to pre-order at GameStop; doing so will net you the Exclusive Assault Pack, which features exclusive weapons and ammo like the UC Regulator high damage shotgun and the Rittergroupen Grizzly high accuracy rifle. For more info and media on the game, head on over to the official site.

Wait, shouldn't Obsidian be hard at work on my Fallout New Vegas? Get it done, then work on this...thing.
