DeathSpank, Shank Cleared For Launch On PSN, XBLA
We always need original experiences in downloadable format, which is why we're happy to hear about the eventual addition of two more unique titles to the PSN and XBLA.
As reported by Joystiq, EA Partners has announced an exclusive agreement to put Hothead Games' DeathSpank and Klei Entertainment's Shank on the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Marketplace, and PC. Well, the PC will get Shank but it seems DeathSpank will only go to the PSN and XBLA. These are two games you won't want to miss, just because they're so damn loopy. Said EA Partners outreach director Jamil Moledina:
"Our mission at EA Partners is to work with the best talent across the game industry, and we are thrilled to extend our expertise to the leading creative developers in downloadable indie games. DeathSpank is engrossingly fun and hysterically funny ... and Shank is an amazing experience."
EA Partners is already responsible for giving us the likes of Rock Band, Left 4 Dead and Brutal Legend, but this is their first foray into the realm of digital downloads. One of the games, Shank, was recently named as a finalist at the Independent Games Festival and we're hoping it'll prove to be a worthwhile experience when it arrives. We don't have an expected release date for either game just yet but that's okay; while we anxiously await thatgamecompany's new title, we certainly need other indie devs to pick up the slack for the PSN.
