Shatter To Receive New Modes, Including Multiplayer

Shatter is one of the most polished, addicting, and overall entertaining titles on the PSN.

But if you haven't yet had the pleasure of playing this slick and innovative block-breaker, you should definitely consider a purchase once Sidhe Interactive adds the new modes. The game was announced yesterday for the PC and that version will feature a couple new modes, including multiplayer. PC users will get Endless Mode, Endless Co-Op Multiplayer, Time Attack and Time Attack Co-Op Multiplayer, and it all sounds like tons of fun. Now, PSN users may feel a little shortchanged but have no fear: according to what Sidhe Managing Director Mario Wynands said in a quick forum post over at NeoGAF, we'll get those new modes at some point.

"Just about to jump on a plane, but I mentioned in the Steam thread that if PSN owners are looking to double dip please note we will be bringing the new modes back to the PSN version (no timeframe on that yet though)."

The Steam version that already features these new modes will be out this month, but if you'd rather stick with the PSN version, stay tuned for the extra mode announcement. Hopefully, they'll come soon...I've always loved Shatter and the addition of multiplayer will most definitely be appreciated, and besides, I could use an excuse to dive in again.

I couldn't agree more, on a tight budget a very small handful of psn games = money for GoW or Heavy Rain, or White Knight.

Which would you choose?

Gotta take the big boys, not that I don't give kudos to the PSN titles (I still may get Flower some time) but it's so very hard to break blocks instead of taking exclusives for a spin.

I already own this one, and I agree with you, Ben. I look forward to a reason to revisit. Every system needs a good brick breaker, and Shatter is it for the PSN. Thanks for the heads-up.

I haven't played Shatter, so I sure as heck don't know if it's good, but can it possibly be as good as Critter Crunch? Got that game in the half price sale that was going on some weeks back and it's king.

For me a video game needs to be immersive in every way. Not that simple games can't be fun and enjoyable, they can. However, they end up taking a back seat to the masterpieces and being played to rarely by me to rationalize paying the money. Refer to my earlier comment. Money and priorities, very important.

Shatter is good, great even, it's a fun twist on brick breaker games as having more than one direction to worry about and more than one time of frame to play on, but I'm wondering if we'll have to pay for these new modes as the PC version comes with them, is that version going to cost more? or what...
